I did the same thing with an ho atlas steam tram loco. Grafted it onto a kato 109 n gauge chassis. Works really well and looks cool on the 009 layout.

That's interesting, I've been toying with idea of motorising one of these Atlas Picassos.

I still toying with the idea of fitting a smaller motor and getting it down to scale height.

@@ArcadiaJunctionModelTrains a smaller motor on the same chassis? I've got a GèGè belt driven locomotive and it's a great smooth runner.

The design is even more crazy... The driver cab is located above the engine. The front door is designed to be used to slide the engine unit out of it
