Hybrid baits are very popular at the moment, and one of the most common is the tail bait. As I was playing with the idea of making one of my own, I started drawing, and when I was done drawing I knew that I had to do it right away. The design was to me, simply awesome.
In this movie I make the headpiece to match the softbait tail I made in part 1.

Now I know where Rapala got their inspiration for their 'new' 2019 lure the Otus ;) I'm amazed by your work, That's all I can say! I would love to try out your Wicked Goby in our French waters. Our pike and catfish have never seen anything like it before!

Thank you for the tip. I will keep trying and playing with the cure times. I let it thicken some before I use it! I don’t like placing multiple layers as some areas will be thicker than others. 😃 but it is was it is. I am making a lipless diver that has flat sides.. I might have to round them out.

just apply while its thin, and then get back to it after half hour and even out, and then a half hour later, until its really thick

Another great video. I love your lure design. The tail action is fantastic and I am sure it will catch a lot of fish for you. The only problem is that you make it look so easy and I seem to lack your skills and talents. :-) But you inspire me to keep trying ... Thanks!

Well it's so much easier when you can edit out all your mistakes ;-) Just hang in there and you will succeed as well

precioso trabajo,muchas gracias. Seria interesante retrasar la anilla donde atas el señuelo para conseguir mas zig-zag?
@SplishSplashFishing
@SplishSplashFishing 4 года назад
I don't know what effect that would have. Maybe if you fish more vertically, it would be a good choice

@@SplishSplashFishing God to know. Not mutch fresh water here So, the pikes don't like darting movement?
@SplishSplashFishing
@SplishSplashFishing 4 года назад
@@manesw1 Some days they like much movement other nearly none. Depends on many things, and most of them we don't know :D

This lure would make an awesome whopper plopper
@SplishSplashFishing
@SplishSplashFishing 5 лет назад
I guess it would be fairly easy to replace the softbait screw with a rotating plopper-propeller. Maybe I should try that :D

Nice to see u again! I noticed that u r using a table top epoxy to top coat your lures. I have been having major trouble getting slow cure resins to set evenly on some of my designs. It seems that on lures that I have made that have flat side the slow cure likes to pull away from the edges. Do u have any suggestions for me? Awesome lure design u have there !!😁👍🏻

Sharp edges always make the epoxy retract. One thing you could try, is to brush over the epoxy a few times during the hardening process. As the epoxy gets thicker it is less able to pull away, and you will end up with a layer that at least will allow you to get a complete cover in the 2nd or 3rd layer. This also works for "fisheyes"

I would recommend you buy a lapel microphone. It should help the audio quality and you can be heard wherever you go.

nice man ... perfect ...i prefer when u talked closer to cam. One question , your country eat pike ? i am from greece and we dont have this fish
@SplishSplashFishing
@SplishSplashFishing 6 лет назад
Better sound is on it's way - Just need to adjust my setup to the new workshop. Yes you may catch and eat pike, but for many its a catch and release fish. It's the largest predator in our ecosystem, and it's important to preserve those to ensure a good balance in our waters.

Splish Splash I would love to catch a pike in future. I like that your new videos have some angle changes and u show for example what will happen in the video . But i think the most of the time you talk without doing some work the camera should be closer to you . Your big studio is kind of destracting this way. Its my opinion plz take it friendly :) its like when you talk to someone you are close to him and watch his expression
