Just a tip. I learned to sew in sleeves before doing the side and underarm seams. Sew the top of the sleeve to the bodice. Sew side and inner sleeve seam in one go. This helps get an accurate X between the sleeve and side seams under the arm. I hope this is useful. I love your channel and your work is simply beautiful. You are teaching me how to draft patterns which is something I never knew. Thank-you from the bottom of my heart.
Thank you for your tip! Actually I used that technique before. But I don't know if it's just me or so, I found it make a broken line at the armpit area from the sideline to the under arm one. That's why I tried out this technique and found my problem was solve. Yes, it's a bit more tricky with this way, especially when your sleeve is small. But it's okay for me :)
thank you so much for this video jess :)) I want to make this dress for my best friend bd but i don't have her measurements is there any standard sizes that i can use??
Great design and thanks for sharing. One suggestion, if I may, would be to edit the videos by not including you actually sewing all around the different areas. When you demonstrate that you will be sewing an area that you have just pinned all around, it is not necessary to include the literal sewing part. Would greatly improve your great videos.
I’m excited to try this one! I’m curious why the lining and the top fabric of the skirt is not connected at the bottom? Is this just a design choice or is there a technical reason I’m missing? I love the idea of making it reversible, so thought maybe connecting it at the bottom would make it easier to flip the other way?
Jess you inspire me. I love watching your videos and seeing your lovely creations. I am working up the courage to learn self drafting for myself and I will definitely come back here instead of relying on commercial patterns.
You really look so good in these clothes you make Jess! I have a pair of Mary Jane's like the ones you're wearing with the dress so now I'm considering making a dress like yours so that I can have something cute to wear with my shoes
Beautiful dress! 🤗 The contrast between the fabric and binding is elegant. Thank you for showing how to do a lining in this dress. I need to work on that skill.
Thank you Jess, you always make it easy for us to follow. You are my absolute favorite go to for sewing pretty dresses. This one is NY fav for now....lol, until you make the next. I LOVE THIS ONE. So some, sweet and pretty. I will make several in different colors, patterns. Love it so much. Delicately sweet I would call it.
Gostei muito da sua didática! Muito inteligente a sua forma de ensinar usando o mínimo de tempo para que o vídeo fique realmente instrutivo e não seja enfadonho.
Omg 😳 you’re really a mind reader. I’ve been wanting to make a dress like this for a while but still busy with other projects (ofc following your tutorials) Thank you for sharing. I love and appreciate your videos so much 😊
