In today's video I use some scarp aluminum that I found at the side of the road to build a custom panel that fits perfectly over the hole I cut to access my fuel pump On my 89 ranger. I use some countersink screws that I found in a tin that was given to me at an estate sale. I then found out what type of thread it was by running it through a few dies, I used that die to clean up the threads on the screws. Knowing the thread, I used the matching tap and proper size drill to make and thread holes in my truck's box. Once everything lined up and fit nicely I traced and cut the back to match the profile of my truck bed's ribs. I also countersunk the holes in the plate to allow the screw heads to stay flush with the plate. Finally when I installed it I used anti seize to prevent the aluminum plate from fusing to the steel bed.
