Ok, it was time for me to start making bath bombs again! The summer is coming up (even if outside there is still plenty of snow!!!!) and I know my customers will want some bath fizzies! So I was given a nice stainless steel mold a little while ago and it seems to be working wonders!
So here I am again, showing you the process of making bath bombs, with was not so bad for me this time! I did have a couple failed batches, but if you look until AFTER the generic, you will see that my daughters don't mind my "not to good" left overs!

Hi Ariane. When we use the stainless steel molds, we give them 2 good smacks with the spoon at an angel (the spoons edge), on each side, top and bottom and they fall out perfectly. No need to lightly tap all around. Helps speed things up. Thanks for sharing your video! Love your work. Joanne

These are great! You were talking about shipping...when I have to ship mine, as long as they are good and hard, I just pack them really tight with packing peanuts and the ship really well! Sometimes if they are traveling with a lit of other products, I will put them in a small box of their own (with the peanuts) inside the bigger box with the other products. Knock on wood, no problems so far!
@meowscutie
@meowscutie 7 лет назад
Brandy Nettleton wrapping them in serran/plastic/cling wrap would probably keep them together better since peanuts won't do a whole lot (on their own) if the box gets bumped enough/hard enough.

I've ordered bath bombs off of Amazon before I got into making them on my own and it came wrapped in cellophane and tied at the top with ribbon and they held their shape exceptionally well as long as you put plenty of padding and cushion on the bottom as well as the sides of the box.Hope this helps :)

Humidity is such a pain for bath bombs!! I live in the French Alps and it is a disaster making them. I picked up a tip though for making smaller amounts to dry them in a low fan forced oven at maybe 50 deg with a wooden spoon in the door. I can't remember how long for but probably 30 min would be enough to get them going. I'm going to try it and see. I just opened the tiniest natural soap shop and of course - they all want bath bombs!!! aarrgghhh. Thanks for sharing this video. It was interesting to see how you use your kitchen aid. I never thought of doing that.

is the spoon to prop it open? or keep it closed? what
@SevenAnomone224

Yes. To keep the air circulating and dry them. It works as long as you have no oil in the recipe. Otherwise they melt. ☺

Hi MiWholeFood friend! The book is a must have - -I too had many frustrations with bombs failing. Got the book and holy moly felt so good to have success in making bombs! My bombs are still rock hard - -I'm so afraid of failure I kept them to see if they stayed hard. I saw a tip to put in cupcake holder after wrapping, them place in small bag if wish so they don't roll. The metal bowls can be found at IKEA. Some like the plastic molds like Christmas type so they don't tap, just squeeze. You are looking quite marvelous in your pregnancy!

Citric acid with baking soda would give you sodium citrate when dropped in the water while releasing carbon dioxide,which is the fizz. The correct ratio for this reaction is 1 part of citric acid to 1.31 part of baking soda. If you add 1 part of Citric acid to 2 part baking soda, the bath bomb will leave baking soda in the bath tub..

I am wondering if you have any advice. I am trying to make bath bombs out of some silicone molds I have. The batch its self works great if I use a regular bath bomb mold. but once I put it in my silicone mold it does not hold its shape and breaks apart. do I have to leave to Mix in the mold longer than or at 24hrs? or is there a faster way to get the dry enough to take them out of the mold and still hold their shape?
