When and how do you get the relief imprints on to the slab? Iv think ive watched ALL? Your fabulously informative and super friendly videos. I ve seen how to make slab impression from the organic material but ive missed? How and when to transfer to the slab meant for the final piece 🤷🏼🌅

Watch that video again…? You just squish your slab walls into the prepared and dried impressed slab and then use it 😁

Great video! Could I ask why you would use coloured slip, underglaze or glaze on a piece, is it personal preference or dependent on the type of outcome you would like?

Oh gosh its all about the different qualities that each different material brings - so outcome based choice 👍🏼

Thanks for your great videos, I've watched a few and yours are so friendly and followeable. Just wanted to ask, is this stoneware clay, and, how dot you make sure the steam that joins bottom to walls is going to be non porous. I've struggled with that so much, end up getting inside the pot and smoothing wall onto base to try and seal, it looks like you don't need to do any of that? Thanks

Hi Celia, i just make sure my joints are really well scored and use slip and then when the beakers have firmed up a bit i ‘pat their bottoms’ with an old butter pat, this compresses the joint just fine - no need to worry about any leaks - its so awkward to get inside and smooth things, i don’t bother and make hundreds of these - sometimes if the joint is a bit messy i will get in there with a wooden tool, but only to tidy it up... Happy potting! 😁
