Reviewing my very well loved custom made HDPE soap molds!
For those of you who do not understand what custom made means, it means that I had those molds made especially to fit my needs and have a precise size bar soap. Something that is unique to me!
So if you are looking for this exact mold & equipment, on "For Cratfs Sake's" website, you will not find it. I would also appreciate if you do not call this company and ask them: "I want what she has!" because that is the whole point of custom made equipment.
However, you can surely do your math and ask "For Crafts Sake" to make your very own custom size! You dream it, they make it!
I love to share with you all but in return, I expect that you respect my brand. Use what I offer as inspiration and use it to lauch your own creativity.
Thank you for understanding!

That stuff you are drying we call generically" kelp" or "sea weed" If you can get a view of it growing, I may be able to tell you the genus & possibly species. An underwater pic of the hold fast (looks like plant roots), the body & a top view would be great.. It looks like what is commonly referred to as "giant sea kelp". Although there are many types of kelp. That far north it could be bull or moose kelp? Hard to say. Even a pic from the surface might clear it up. Great videos! Have a great day!

Hi from PEI, neighbor! :D I was looking for a large batch recipe since everything I could find was for like 3 cups of milk, and my friend can supply me with 40 liters a day. This will be really helpful! I designed my own mold negative on the computer, then printed it with a 3D printer for a positive. Cast it in silicone and did a test with the silicone mold last night and it turned out well. Now I just need to make about 100 more silicone molds :D
@ArianeArsenault

you simply need to figure what quantity of soap your mold holds and then input your recipe in a soap calculator to make it the size you need. You should never measure by the "cup" but by weight. And before selling, make sure that you comply with Health Canada's regulations and that all your products are registered with them to legally sell. :-) Good luck! I would love to have so much goats milk available!

whenever i watch your video, i love the fragrance oils you put in your soaps. how you blend fragrance oils to formulate new scent. have you tried using basil fragrance oil? i tried using them in my soap.. it seize like seconds.. just a few manual whisk it seize. can adding more water slow down the seize or less sodium hydroxide slow it down or working at room temp slow it down? or is there any other way so it wont seize aside from changing the Fragrance oil? Thank you. Please do take good care with your back problem.. looking forward to more soaping vdeos!!!

Hi Ariane, I live one province over....enjoy your videos, usually watch 2 or 3 at a time, and I always learn something new and useful thank you, I started soaping in December, and even ghough Im almost certain that I messed up somehow, all of my batches have turned out nicely..... I didn't know that you have back injury too. I was sorry to hear that...it is a test for sure.but hou seem to be coping well!?! I .have been managing back pain for decades.,.you've heard it all. so no comments from me...you're always thinking, and it looks like you're pretty careful. I have found sometimes you just have to change you're planning but not your purpose. ..so I was going to batch on Friday last week, that got changed to Monday, and I was happy I waited, as I felt like my back could snap after that...so if I hadn't listened to my husband and my inner voice...? I love your passion for what you do, and it is dome in that whimsical clashes with no nonsense lets get down to work kind of way! wholesome and playful foo! lol, its late! g'night. et merci!

hello ariane , I am watching your you tube everyday as well as others however i am so inspired and trying to soaping. i am a beginner and i have many things in questions. would you able to help me to understand how to add super fat? i used calculator for 5% super fat and it shows certain weight for it as well lye weight changed. is that mean that i can add that amount of oil in addition to my oil batch after emulsified or i subtract that from first batch prep and pour later after emulsified? also what about if i happened to use any carrier oil for colors? is that consider as super fat as well?

I ended up buying a custom 52 pound mold from For Crafts Sake thanks to your video! I am new to making this big of a batch. It looks like you use a standard immersion blender, do you ever have issues where the soap hardens too quickly before you have time to pour? Also, why do you strain the lye water? Thanks!

Ariane, you are so incredibly generous to share your knowledge with us willing neophytes!! I learned so much just from this one video! I am, however, very concerned about your back. I herniated 5 disks (both cervical and lumbar) and have had 4 back surgeries as a result. My children were only 4 and 2 years old-I feel like I ruined their childhood. They are now 16 and 13, and never remember a time when I was not in pain. PLEASE be so careful lifting those heavy pots!! It is NOT worth a severe injury!! I hurt my back by lifting a heavy box of books wrong and twisting-it happened in an instant!! One thing over the years that I found was very, very helpful are those industrial back braces the construction workers wear. They wrap around your waist, cross cross over the back and have shoulder straps. I order them off Amazon-my favorite brand is Mueller. They are by far the best. If you have to lift a heavy pot, just strap on one of those puppies first. You will be amazed at the difference!!!

Hi Ariana, I recently had a question from a new soap maker and I gave them my answer for my general rule of thumb but I was wondering if I could also ask you because I think they had watched someone making a huge batch like this and kinda assumed using large amounts of milks were normal. Question, how much (%) do you keep your additives at. Like the cashew milk. The person asking was using half of their water amount in milks. It didn't turn out good as you can imagine. I usually stay at 5% or below for my additives. I think the confusion came when they see something like 600 grams of cashew milk in one batch not realizing 40 pounds of soap is way more than the beginner soap maker would ever make. Thank you for taking the time to help me be a better soap maker and I am off to see part 2😀

I'm from Mexico and in my country we use the hot and cold water dispenser or something like the pot tipper for the kitchen water bottle, it's name is "5 gallons water bottle swing" and is made of forged iron, and the beautiful thing is that don't need a lot of space. I thought about it when I saw the size of your pot, it looks exactlly as the 5 gallons water bottle is used in my country. Maybe you can make something that works for you, something artisanal, made of forged iron or wood? in the past it was just the swing and the bottle was secure with a chain, now there is a lot of styles, here is the link for you to have an idea...and it is cheap! Hope this will help you, a big hug and take care.....www.ebay.com/itm/5-Gallon-Glass-plastic-Water-Bottle-jug-Pouring-Stand-Holder-make-wine-etc-/321356069758
