Always enjoyed your PBS episodes Eric and very glad to find you here! I too use padauk (and also can't properly pronounce) in the center of most all of my cutting and slicer boards. I tell family/friends its reddish color signifies the heart I put into such; yeah, corny, but they appreciate none the less. 😉

@@CraftsmansLegacy I do feel bad for those who enjoy and have an investment in winter equipment. Tough sledding, so to speak! I'm blessed to have a nice metal/wood shop to be able to adjust my mental well being in. So many others aren't so lucky. Peace!

What a great idea and useful in the kitchen. I cut a lot of Barrel Feta, Kasseri, and kefalotyri all great tasting cheese.. Nice wood work.

They're GORGEOUS WOW. I would like to buy one I actually been looking on eBay for one of these (and one of those wooden trays to use while in bathtub.) ..I love cheese too especially asiago... with some crusty bread and a nice glass of wine. 🍷 I would love to stop by and sit by your 🔥 fire. So cozy and quaint. Very relaxing and calm.

I have made over 100 of the wire cheese cutters. I made a tablesaw sled so you can cut the groove at an angle and a drilling jig to hold the board upright and at a 90 with a clamp to hold it in place.

The plans I got from cheeseslicing.com shows an angle cut. I find it helps keep the handle from hitting the counter coming close to the counter.
