Glass Central Station is honored to present this content from the 2019 Glass Craft & Bead Expo. Josh Mazet aka cone12flat is known for his "Light Bender" pendants among a diverse skillset developed during his career as a glassworker and educator. During his "Beginning Dichro Boro Marbles" class at the Expo, he was kind enough to share his technique for a galaxy style dichro marble while sharing critical advice for working with dichro, use of a marble mold and marble making in general. Be sure to check out the "Breaking Glass" podcast Josh co-hosts with Kevin Beecher.

What an amazing teacher. When Im teaching, It's so hard to explain exactly what I'm doing. But the flow of his wording was so flawless. Much appreciated brother

I would like to have a dichroic glass sphere to put on polished flat or dimpled facets that will reflect light off like a mirrored ball. I have several designs with square, rectangular and triangular facets that cover the entire surface.

Can anyone suggest a way to determine which side the dichro coating is on?
@aaronross5467

look at the edge. if you can see through to the back side the dicro is on the back. If the dicro is facing up it should reflect and you wont be able to see the back side
@dong9514

You take a pencil of some kind of dark pointy object put on the glass square if the mirror image touches it's the dicro side if there is space between the image then it's the glass side.
