We hope you all had a Happy Easter! We were in the kitchen cooking and baking like crazy in the days preceding to ensure delicious side dishes! Thank you for coming along with us in the kitchen today, and we look forward to seeing you all next time! 😊
Grandma's Crescent Roll Recipe (with the alterations we decided to make):
3/4 C. + 1 tsp. Sugar
1/2 C. Warm water
2 1/4 tsp. Yeast
1/2 C. Butter
1/2 C. Lard
2 C. Warm Water
4 Large Eggs (beaten)
2 tsp. Salt
8 C. Flour
Proof 1 tsp sugar, 1/2 cup warm water and yeast.
Blend Shortening and remaining sugar together.
Stir in water.
Add in yeast mixture, eggs and salt. Mixing well.
Knead 5-10 minutes.
Let rise until about double.
Divide into 3rds, cut into triangles, roll into crescents. Let rise, bake at 350° for 15 minutes.
