Super fun ephemera today!! I’m behind on the news (and with watching videos!) So I was just reading about the snowstorm you all had in Montana over the weekend!! So glad Mr. A insisted on those snow tires early!
Hi Gayle. Someone may have given you this hint before, but I just feel the need to pass it on to you. When you are sewing, you don’t need to cut the threads between each short bit of sewing, just put your needle up to high position and move to the next spot. You can trim the threads after it is all sewn. Saves lots of thread and time. Have a wonderful time in Denver. Wish I could be there!
Still crafting along and making all the ephemera. Enjoying the series. I saw “Downton Abby” last week and it is most enjoyable. Have fun. It was wonderful.
Some of the new punches I have our being a pain too. I found if I take a small screwdriver to the side carefully in between the metal parts it will pop. OMGoodness the mini folio is exquisite!! The tag with sewn lines is sooooooo stinking cute❣️ As usual everything you may turned out beautiful!! Your stampin off paper's starting to look really yummy! I had so much fun hanging out with you Gayle!! I heard the snow was pretty bad up there be warm & safe PLEASE! I'm so thrilled that you're going to have all of the series together! So I can make a bunch of one thing at a time and know whenever I need to get inspiration for more stuff to create for my stash!! You make the best mentor ever!! Enjoy the movie, I'm jelly! 🍁🐇🧡🍄💛🐿️🍂
I LOVE this Gayle. I also love it that you don't expect perfection. I think this is perfect for my little insert into my new Junk Journal. Hugs from afar!
Some punches are tough. I threw one on the floor once because I was aggravated. I think it improved after that! Lol. Loved all the ephemera you made Gayle. I had to watch this video twice because I was making a journal while watching but missed some of your video. So glad I can just play it again.
what a cute folio! I guess you could put the ends together before cutting them to get them to mesh. Love that Blue Fern Paper, the colors are so soft. liked making the "yummy stuff" inside. Hope you continue with all the little stuff. You are such an inspiration to me to keep going. My new mantra is, it's OK, I'm making it my own. Soon I will have the courage to share some pics on Junk Journal Junkies.
Morning back. Im so happy watching your ephemera videos, even rewatching them. Trying to get some orders done, but, I need side tracking too.lol, to keep the mind fresh and active, as you know. Xx
Love your spin Gayle. I've seen the lines seen on before and I love that look. Very unique but I always forget. I think I need to.make an idea book for myself otherwise it seems I stick to the same ol things. I need to come shopping for ideas at your house!!
This video was so much fun! Thinking of you with your snow and winter tires while we are having another 90+ degree day here in Maryland. Summer doesn't want to quit.
You make my day. Really enjoy watching you put your spin on things. I love the shabby chic and vintage. Hubby says it's cause I'm old. I remind him that he is older.
The folio is beautigul. I have a lot of 6 by 6 paper that will work also for this ephemera so i will be making some today. Have a great day with friends. Be blessed!
Hi Gayle, Your ephemera folio came up beautifully. LOVE that paper! When I made it I used the Gift Bag Punch Board to do the curved pockets inside. You were right, the paper was a lightweight, one sided 6.5" paper. That's why I lined it with coffee dyed paper. When I sewed the lines on the tag I just used the edge of my sewing foot to line the next one up but drawing lines works too! They do take a bit of time to sew but I did several at once and had a big chain of them. lol. Thanks for your videos, x
Hi Ms.Gayle! Get a sheet of Reynolds Wrap foil, any will work, and just punch several tags using the foil. The more you do,the sharper the tag punch will get to where you can use it for card stock/paper. I'm catching up to your videos! Hugs my friend,Liz
You can also use the aluminum foil to sharpen your scissors. Just fold it several times over to make multiple thicknesses (about 3-4 layers) and then cut the foil to sharpen. I use long strips and make sure to cut along the entire length of the scissors. Then I make small snips with the tips, to make extra sure those get sharpened. Works like a charm and they stay sharp for quite some time. Repeat as necessary.
Bird Waltz Paper! SWOON!!! I’m SO enjoying this series too. Wish I could come to Denver on Friday but I’ll be thinking of all our “gals” and hoping you’ll all have a wonderful time! Hmmm.... watch every day and try to keep my trap (or should I say, fingers?) shut some on comments and let others have a turn now and then. But I always click on “like.” Just know, even with likes hidden now, I LIKE EVERY SINGLE DAY! Gayle, since you’re on the Blue Fern Team now maybe you can meet our Timmy (Holtz)! Safe travels!
Love Love this Mini Folio!! It is way too cute!! Especially with the Blue Waltz paper!😊 I was going to order some Red River 32 lb. photo matte paper today but was not sure whether you use the one sided or 2 sided one. 😁 TFS!! Hugs & Blessings❤️🥰
Hi Gayle! I just got back not too long ago from visiting my family in IN. My mother hasn't been feeling very well and she lives by herself. My daughter lives near her, but has a real busy life and can't always visit. So, I went over and she is sounding better. It's sure tough for her as she is in her 80s, had a hip replacement fail last year and had a horrible year getting that fixed. She got such a bad infection from the surgeries fixing it that she almost didn't make it. So, she's had a tough year. And with my own health problems this year, I just couldn't visit until now. So, hopefully it cheered her up. I was able to watch your videos, but no time to write much, if at all. Sorry about that. The folio and tags all turned out so cute. I really loved the tag with the sewn lines. I will definitely be trying that one out! I saw this video a few minutes ago on making pen holders. Not sure if you've seen this or have done these, but thought I'd share it you haven't and would like another ephemera idea. They are certainly very cute. much like an altered paper clip. m.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_0JC15USj5U.html Well, have a great Wednesday! Just two days til the meet and greet. I share your s and the others who will attend excitement, though won't be there. Just can't wait to hear all about it when you return! Well, God Bless! Hugs! Sue H.
And here's another recent find. Aren't these the cutest!! Such talent in the UK community, isn't there? m.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-B8dU1KK3KMo.html
loving these ephemera crafting days! Doesn't matter if it is something I already know how to do or not. It reminds us of things we may have put aside. It is just nice to watch you enjoy the challenge yourself of recreating other peoples work! So fun! Alos easy to be crafting along with you. Have a wonderful day Gayle, you always make mine so much brighter. I don't comment daily but I never miss a day of watching!
well, isn't that one tag idea too ridiculously E-Z, not to mention too darn cute??? who wouldda thunk to sew the lines on a tag to resemble paper?! LOVE IT! 💖
Love the folio! Next time, put the ends together and cut both at the same time. Maybe the person who made the prototype used one of those punches that makes tags and that's why they are even. But as Rachel says, "doesn't matter", the ribbon covers it up anyway! And, yes, I wondered when you would realize you didn't sew the flaps. They look great anyway!
I love that closure, Gayle!❤ Embrace the asymmetry! I gravitated to junk journaling because it's not perfect. There is always an unlimited source for supplies. It is always challenging me to look at ways to use things differently. Thank you so much for making these videos!
I absolutely love this mini folio. It's adorable. I'm new at this and your step by step instructions are perfect for me to give it a try. Thank you for an excellent video!
Love these ephemera videos. I know what you mean about early morning errands! I was up all my ‘younger’ days at 5:30. Kids up, fed, dressed, everyone off to do their thing. Work, housework, cab driver (kid driver, lol) Now that those years are gone I prefer to ‘ease’ into the day! 5:30 am is for peaceful contemplation or sleep now, IMHO. I hope the rest of the day for you was peaceful - you seemed a little frazzled! Everything turned out wonderful though so no worries there! 😃
Who would have thought to sew lines like paper? Jibid Neary was the first person I saw do that! Check out her channel if you love EcoDye, Nature and an English accent! The stamp may not have made a good impression because it was the first time you used it and it wasn't "conditioned". Some people ink and stamp on a scrap several times or rub the new, un-inked stamp on their jeans until the image looks slightly white and more dull than shiny. There are release agents on a new stamp and that gets them off and gives a slight tooth for the ink to hold onto. Lovin' the ephemera, Gayle! Thanks! ❤
Absolutely loved the mini folio idea. Having so much fun with this series! And yes,. I was sitting here saying no,no,no while watching you see around the folio without stitching the flaps first. :)
Yep, I was yelling at you...sew the pockets first. LOL. The inking is just as good. How do you like us coaching from our chairs and couches? Haha. These mini albums are adorable. And the paper you are using is gorgeous. You could match up the slants to the belly band by redoing the fatter one to match the thinner one, if that makes sense. Did you get much snow?
@@gayleagostinelli_ct that seems ridiculous...summer just finished for you, has Autumn/Fall been cancelled...however New Zealand can't talk, spring just fell backwards to nasty ole winter; but as someone said today, there will be plenty of water in the dams for summer garden watering...
Who made the piece you copied? I have watched your others and wondered if I missed the origins. I love your videos. You don’t stress when a goof happens and your voice is just right for these instructional vids. Thank you for sharing. 😍
Such cute ephemera. Don’t worry about perfection, I don’t think many scrap makers worry about being perfect. I can’t wait to hear how you like Downton Abbey. Did you watch the serious? My favorite of all times. Thank you for sharing 🤗
I have truly enjoyed this whole ephemera series. For your punch try taking a couple of layers of aluminium foil and punching the foil a few times. I find that works well for dull punches.
This is such a fun project. One I definitely have to teach my JJ students. I hope your punch can be remedied; those things aren't cheap. Thank you for delighting me during my lunch hour once again. xx
really love your work. I enjoy watching so much! Thank you for including the punch troubles. That happens to me ALL OF THE TIME :/ I use the ones that are orange and white and they always let me down. So maybe Stamping up brand? thanks, take care.
Hi Gayle, Looking for that Vintage polka dot shop. Having a difficult timer. Don’t know why. Etsy is very easy to navigate through. Is there anyway you can provide me with the link to the shop.... I spent an hour or more today trying to get on, it’s not that simple..Can You Give it a try, and send me the link... it’s the only way I can think of getting to this store..... Thank You so much 😊💕🌷🌷💕. I have to get some of the coffee dyed paper with the doilie designs.. They were so pretty Thank You again
Good morning Gayle my friend. You know if that band really bothers you, you could hold up the other end to the one that doesn't match and cut it so it is the same, then re-ink the edges. Hugs 😘❤
