Definitely feel that John Galliano was the clear winner for Paris Fashion week, this merge of past (corsets and silhouettes) and the future of the makeup of high artificial intelligence futuristic robotic models. Welcome back John Galliano we missed you ❤

No one will ever touch Galliano. This show was absolute unquestionable perfection. Pure . Distilled. Elegant . Art meets decadence & breaks one’s heart. Breathtaking.

Agree with Hetty on all but especially on Margiela. It was a Galliano triumph. Yes, a show to remember. Watched it twice today on total awe. It brought me back to his ‘84 Les Incroyable collection, it screamed MrPearl, Colette, Brassaï. But mainly it was just unbelievable. Galliano is the master of storytelling with fabrics and clothes. But also a huge bow to the hair & make-up teams. Yepp, a show for the fashion history books.💥

Honestly, I'd been so bored until Galliano for Margiela. It was astonishing and so exciting to see again. Fashion, and Couture, has been so dreary in recent years. My faith has been restored.

true , totally agree with you ., i think this is collection by John is just so right, it takes me back to the 90's but it has also his "incroyable & merveilleuse " stroke in it. It must be for sure the best show for years in Paris , not only talking about Johns work for Martin , but for Paris as a whole ... we needed a renewal of elegance in its extreme form

I already commented and mentioned the Galliano show- but hadn’t seen your analysis of it yet. Wasn’t it just amazing? I’m still starry eyed and mesmerized by it. Just wanted to add that you did a wonderful job of sharing this “ show of shows “ with us all. Is everyone as hypnotized by this show as myself and others who have done videos and shorts on it ? I thought it was just me!

She is, especially when she’s working in fashion industry where Dior is a powerhouse, which is why Arnault’s eldest daughter wants to be in charge of Dior, not any other brand in the group.

About the everyday haute couture discourse and brands doing it, Dior, Chanel, Fendi and Valentino the only Valentino and Fendi are doing right. Chanel and Dior lost interest for most of the fashion people most because we don't feel they are trying to be big houses, we feel they are milking a legacy. Valentino and Fendi are both bringing inovation in shapes, in textiles and lifestyle, they are living brands, we don't get that from Chanel and Dior. From a industry who benefits from the new, not changing is risky
@chaka1370
@chaka1370 4 месяца назад
Oh you hit right on the head there lazy and rest on the legacy of former glory and don’t innovate with textiles since Karl’s gone John you better answer and that Company is owned by OTB group I suppose rival to LVMH his former employer just got there asses handed to them with this show this will go down in history books as one of the best collections in every aspect and I’m still in a haze repeating the images of the looks in my head Bravo Galliano 👏🏽👏🏽🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Great job ! With so much attention and analysis on Galliano Artisenal, I was glad to see your rundown on Gaultier- which I think was really , in one word the “ prettiest “ collection . For people who can afford the brand. there are plenty of wearably gorgeous pieces. Loved this!

I get torn between thinking that couture should be over the top, unattainable (unless very wealthy), and exciting vs something like what Valentino presented which seems…accessible, almost ready to wear-ish (especially the trousers and overall styling). a couture parka sounds very silly…i don’t think i want to see humanity in couture it needs to be HIGH level, innovation, and tell me a story. sell my broke self the idea that this is somewhere i want to be. I know a kid on IG that can put feathers on a parka…and he makes it with his hands too.

i think the logic or rule of it needing to be made in france is very outdated there are designers doing the same process outside of france in many countries and they still don't get on the list due to that rule i think that rule should be changed it only closes doors.

Yes let's democratize everything! The French, say what you will about them, are extremely protective of their cultural and gastronomic industries. Others, perfectly free to create exquisitely made collections without having to adhere to such rules shouldn't be concerned by the French designation

You can always apply for a guest place to show for example Armani, Versace and Valentino are all guest members they make in Italy but have official in slots in couture week.

So this 15 minute blathering on about Margiela/Galliano - TEDIOUS. Like someone discovering the Mona Lisa and chewing your ear off about it? Is she on drugs? Does she live in a cave? Give us real commentary. Like - OTB Group & Galliano decided they need the press and opted to go FULL BLOWN GALLIANO this season. That makes sense, business sense. Fashion sense. Not some buffoon being blown away by the artistry of Galliano? GALLIANO! SHOWSTUDIO - DO BETTER.

This is Galliano redemption and revenge, all in one show. Opening track where he ask if he is enough is setting a stage for explosion of talent, that supersedes all scandals, questionings, pushbacks. It feels like there is years of unused ideas cumulating and surfacing in this night and show. Right place, right night, right time…and the beauty of Galliano work is that after everything and everyone’s impress us, clothes are the ones that excite us and bring us to tears.
