Making fir needle tea on a Lixada portable camping/stick/hobo stove in a kettle. This can also be done with pine needles. Very easy and tastes great.

I do this occasionally. Our conditions here in the PNW/USA are similar: wet, with mostly fir, spruce, cedar, etc. Lots of fir where I am, spruce mostly out on the pacific Coast. Both species can brew up a good cup. I let mine steep a good 5-7 minutes for more flavor. Otherwise, it's a rather weak cup. Also, I break up the needles to smaller bits so they release more essence. Pour the tea thru a patch of cheese cloth. Not bad at all. Lots of people say it clears up the sinus, which is a common thing here in these climes. Well done.

Cheers. Yeah I agree about leaving it to steep longer and I add more needles now for stronger flavour. Very medicinal.
