We love eating and cooking, and there are enough of us that quite a bit of both go on in our house. We've had a tradition in our family of marking the first real meal in a new home as a special occasion and putting extra effort into it. Cooking together is joyful, and there are a lot of things happening at any point. All the help adds a bit of chaos, too.
Having only as much of a pantry as it takes to go through in a month is a new challenge on meal planning, as is adjusting to local ingredients. Flour labeling and protein content is different in France than the US, for example. It's not better or worse, but we have needed to learn the new system to get the results we were accustomed to in the US.
