On the subject of cards to cut, Curator seems quite bad with 1 of each Murloc, Beast, and Dragon, and competes with a similar cost for the Lich King that Trump would like to run. Arguably gives Kodo the boot too, freeing up another slot for something else.
Jaeus A I think One rallying blade for black guard, curator for Lich king. You could possibly keep both rallying blades and cut kodo for blackguard if you wanted both.
Don't forget he is running TWO copies of rallying blade despite only having 5 dependable sources of divine shield. Hell I would personally ditch both blades for Truesilvers.
everyone in this comment chain loses so hard to any aggressive deck, there is a reason rallying blade is run, it's because to exist in hearthstone right now a deck needs to do 3 damage on turn 2/3, truesilver is just too slow
Kori260 Thats my main problem with Paladin in general... You pretty much need Tirion, Sunkeeper, Wickerflame and Ragnaros, sometimes Elise, and nowadays even the Deathknight (+ epics).
A tense Rogue match, a control match, an aggro match... Really good selection of games chose, paired with a naturally fun deck to watch. Thanks for the video!
Sgt. Nukem01 the otk pally I have seen isn't even an otk, you get 3 coins from that trogg guy, play uther dk, play mayor and then play the 3 coins to hero power 4 times. More like a 2tk imo
-rallying blade - curator + truesilvers -Stonehills +forbidden healings -Chillblade +Lich King - kodo - drake +dirty rats Had a lot of success with this variant.
I don't run Bolvar, Kodo's, rallying blade, chillblade champion, and cut 1 corpsetaker, but have Lich King, Arfus, Acolyte, Truesilver, and something else I can't remember off the top of my head. It has no 5 costs card but I still have a 92% winrate in about 40 games
1: You don't want to get rid of Kodo as he's filling an important spot (5-drop), so you would cut it only for another 5-drop. 2: Sgt Sally is too unreliable to be good. You want to control when your board clears are going off, and the chillblade fills synergy for corpse taker, which is a big deal to drop on 4. Burnbristle is sometimes drawn, and the lifesteal is actually important for paladin, where you usually spend the last 2 turns doing hero power end turn.
i don't get how the curator is still important enough to take the spot over lich king. the lich king has more effect on the board and the cards it draws are arguably better.
I have a version like this but rather than the divine shield minions, I run murlocs. you get great early/mid game if you can draw decently and in the late game, uther/ drakes have so much value. only thing it loses to is pirate warrior
I still wish Bolvar's card was better, he's just such a cool character, the first one sucked, the second one is a better rendition but still could be better
Personally I cut the Doomsayers and the Divine Shield package (Bolvar, Wickerflame, Corpsetakers, Rallying Blades) in favor of deathrattle and Curator synergy. Arfus is surprisingly good when you draw him off Curator and get him back again from N'Zoth, and Skelemancers are just fantastic.
TheZedman5000 Skelemancers felt more like a gimmick to me. I tried him out in my pally deck and ended up cutting them because it felt like they weren't putting in enough work once I got in the higher ranks.
I run 1 that I put down before I start putting down my high value minions to try to protect against board clears or to eat removal. If a Warrior Shield Slams or Executes the 8/8 I consider that to be great value. When I can place it turn 5 and Steed it on 6, it's even better. I'd definitely consider it to be a more greedy, anti-control tech card than a staple in the deck. It's pretty much entirely worthless against aggro.
TheZedman5000 I just put him back in my deck a realized why I cut him in the first place. I mainly play wild a Sylvanas just completely shuts down this card. In standard I can see him being strong as a one of, but he struggles in wild because of Sylvanas.
At 15:00 you talk about attacking twice with your hero, once when you're normal then again after you change into the Death Knight Tyrion. They fixed it, you can't do that anymore.
"You can't build your deck assuming 100% control" Um... What... That's exactly how a meta is formed. You build a deck to counter the vast majority of what others are playing.
holy shit that game where you didnt draw uther at all even tho you have drawn out like 25 cards in your deck triggered me so hard at least you still won even without luck
I run a very similar deck to this. Misses out on bolvar as i dont have him. Same with wickerflame. And i miss out the curator package to run lich king amd blackguard. It performs perfectly fine IMO. Only thing that it doesnt do great against it jade druid in the late game as i cant cycle to my board clears as fast without curator
What's with the sudden zoom ins? I get zooming in on Aya (though iirc you usually make those events stand out in a different way) but you also did it on Trump's face even when he wasn't saying anything super funny, dumb or important.
but you summon a random one each time, so you just need 2 or 3 different ones in hand and play em, and hit the button, you would need to stall like a mad man but im sure one could
I think the Horsemen are summoned at random from the ones you don't have yet (just like how Shaman totems work), so what you're proposing would require some luck to work. For example, if you summon Horseman A and bounce him back to your hand, the next turn you would run the risk of summoning Horseman A again with your hero power.
Pandas are terrible cards and there is absolutely no reason to run 4 terrible cards for a very inconsistent combo that only helps in heavy control matchups. If you truly want to commit to OTKing people, just run beardo - takes way less slots for mostly the same purpose.
I'm thinking of crafting the pally DK. The only problem is that I only have one pally legendary and thats Tirion. Can't find any cheapish pally decks with the DK.
I've made myself a deck that runs only tirion and the pally DK, most of the 'important' cards for control paladin are either rare (equality, wild pyro) or basic (Truesilver, Consecration). Essentially, just build for value. And if you were to start a control paladin. I would tell you that Tarim and Ragnaros probably are more important than Uther of the Ebon Blade, but that's a personnal opinion.
This is the deck I would love to have....but as free to play that is something that won't happen.Maybe by the time, the next expac comes out I guess.Or more realistically the expac after that.
I don't think bolvar has a place in a control deck, especially one with barely any divine shield synergy. I'd say he's more of a midrange or aggro card.
L0LWTF1337 bolvar is there mainly to fit the curve. it sticks for spikeridged steed and get 2 attack if you play it after corpsetaker, which is quite common.
If you just wanna have a hard to remove 5-Drop for Steed, why not just playing Tiger? He ist most of the time even harder to remove on turn 5/6, has more offensive power, has with Steed enough HP for sure and you can even draw him with the Curator. In my eyes Bolvar is just a little better overhyped Snapjaw.
Because Bolvar is just much better. He has more health, and can be a lot bigger, if you play it alongside with Argent Squires and Righteous Protectors, he can be buffed with Rallying Blade, etc...
Bolvar is at worst a tankier 3/7, and he curves directly into spikeridged. All divine shield cards in the deck are taunts too, which makes sure that they always die before bolvar.
I wonder if the Rogue would've won if he had spread out his Jades against Equality a little better. That double Van Cleef turn in particular seems like it might've been a misplay (I haven't thought about it thoroughly, though).
