The drop floor does not kick it out on the ground the Mchale opens the throat if it gets clogged and shoots it in the chamber

Another fun video an you appeared happy. Seeing both of doing something new was cool. The two of you seem to be having fun doing demos. I know I am enjoying watching them. Just make sure we see you in the video being you as a first generation female farmer. You reaching through the lens and being personable with those of us in the buddy seat is what sets your channel apart from many others. There are many channels I can see things doing stuff. There are few channels that I am able to interact with the person doing the videos who truly interacts with the viewers and thanks them for being there. That is you. Thank you Kayla. Be safe and God Bless.

Awesome piece of equipment. Here in northeast ohio we don't get a lot of dry baling weather. And the cattle LOVE those silage bales.

Cereal Rye is amazing! We graze it and make balage, cows love it either way. Pasture from late march to first of May or let it grow and bale then plant beans. Our 5th year doing this rotation, row crop yields have not suffered. keeping the cows off the grass in April has made a huge difference in our pasture heath.

Kayla...........rolling up green material, what's going to prevent it from rotting ???? normally dry is OK otherwise green material goes as silage into a silo or bunker Bye Another 👍👍👍👍

You need to put a mic on Jason he's hard to hear when you have him in your videos and here lately he's been in more and that's great.

Depending on how time you rap the bale if it wet it need more rap. Dry hay last rap bale

Just curious if you checked the moisture, it doesn't look very wilted, moisture is supposed to be 45 to 60 % and no more than 60%! That looked very wet! Awesome video 👍 I've got wheat ready to cut and wrap, where just lacking moisture!

Roughly 70% -- We are making haylige not hay so we are putting it through fermentation process to make it highly digestible. It’s been something Bryan’s done for several years now & has it down to a science with the feeder cattle he’s running through.

Yes and I make haylage too and have been for years now, it makes really good hay and there is no waste! I always keep mine under 60% because anything over will spoil unless you feed it up in less than 3 months 👍

Hope the bales don't get molded no warm weather to cure hay.

Jason I did not see you switching one side of the windrow to the other , how did you fill the ends of the bale? How did you get the out of round bale?

I'm no farmer, but I always heard that you can't bail wet hay because 1. it will mold, and 2. it could combust. I'm wrong, no?
@ChroniclesofKayla
@ChroniclesofKayla Месяц назад
This is wet baled hay - which is put up at 60% moisture and then wrapped in a film - that goes through a fermentation process just like silage does. This is chopped by the baler during the baling process. We’re doing our oats today with the same process and baler. So I’ll try to explain it a little more in depth! - -

So what does one of those bails weigh?
@greggrondin3034

Does the wet hay not combust and catch on fire during storage? Need to get you some of that red, white and blue wrap!😎

Can you explain why you are wet wrapping the rye? Another great video.
@ChroniclesofKayla
@ChroniclesofKayla 2 месяца назад
Yes, we’re using it as a feed source for the cows instead of chopping & bagging it for “silage” style. We can do the same process using bales and a wrapper.

Kayla, will the bales heat and mold baling this green and the high moisture?
@ChroniclesofKayla
@ChroniclesofKayla 2 месяца назад
They’ll heat & go through a fermentation process for 21 days. Allowing for a higher digestive rate & better feed rate for the cattle.

Hi, how many round bales do you put up in the season?
@ChroniclesofKayla
@ChroniclesofKayla 2 месяца назад
Typically ?? None - we specialize in Small & Large Square Bales that we do for the equine market in our area. The rounds were done for the cow herd - which we’ll be doing some more and talking about in May.

@ChroniclesofKayla McHale would eat that silage Kayla. They are designed for rough field work. The conditions they are used to are much tougher than your long flat meadows.
@thomaswilson2tw
@thomaswilson2tw 2 месяца назад
Why didn’t y’all rake it?
@ChroniclesofKayla
@ChroniclesofKayla 2 месяца назад
Because they put it already into windrows when they mowed it. No raking necessary when we’re wet baling. Little bit different process than dry hay.
