Making LEGO Star Wars Better - An Accurate Darksaber

To be honest, the ninjago sword from the weapons pack in black would’ve been better than the final piece. I don’t mind the hilt though.

I use a sword from Ninjago Master of the Mountain. As for Mando's darksaber, I think it looks good to use a gunmetal or black hilt. I still think it looks great. Moreso than hilt, I would have preferred the white edge on the darksaber. Also, your content is great. I just want you to make more stuff. I will watch whatever you make.

I love the new piece for the blade (though it certainly could’ve used printing), but I definitely agree the hilt could’ve been WAY better. Honestly I really just want this set because of the INCREDIBLE Bo Katan figure lol.

What I did was get a silver katana and then painted the blade black but left part of the blade silver so it would look more show accurate but I couldn’t find a good way to put cracks on the blade so I just left it without the cracks

I feel like Lego just couldn't find a design that would work and be versatile. Seeing how exaggerated blade is, hilt would have to stay in relatively good proportion to it. Also, Ventress's lightsaber hilt haven't been used in years. Last time we've seen Ashoka, she had straight hilts. I feel like Lego is trying to cut down the amount of weird hilts they're producing. We have normal, long one, ninjago one. That's already plenty for Lego. Lego already have to provide a lot of new molds for Star Wars every wave. Weird helmets or creatures can't really get proper replacement with other pieces. But darksaber hilt can

Such a great video concept! Something I'd love to hear your thoughts on is the new, very cartoonish and simplified minifigure face style that we've been seeing recently, most notably in the new Rivendell set. Do you think that is a problem to be fixed, or the new way forward for minifigure designs?

I don't have a huge problem with the hilt, but I do feel the blade is only halfway there In my opinion, transparent pieces is the iconicly Lego way of representing the lightsaber blade. Obviously trans-black wouldn't look good, but you can clearly see the blade is outlined with a white glow. In my opinion, the piece should have been trans milky white with either solid black printing on each side or a print including the crackles. The shape of the mould is perfect, but that white glow is missing in representation

I made a custom dark saber but it isn't the katana one because I don't have a black katana

Just like MandR said, why cant LEGO make a good Darksaber but they can make a dual printed special mould Candy Cone and there are a lot more examples

If you look at the darksabers hilt it's gunmetal grey, not silver, so they could have just swaped the hilt for the already existing gunmetal grey version.
