For those who sick of hearing elon musks name on this channel, i think the reason he is mentioned alot is beacuse he is one of the few billionares who is involved in all of these futuristic endeavours.
Don't tell the Bloo people, but the chimps have been talking a lot about stones lately. If they do decide to start building civilisations we can profit off of that by teaching them basic technology like how to make iron, written language, seafaring and amphetamines etc
I think it's because he is the only one involved that people heard his name of. If the channel had mentioned some A.I. expert names, people would be like "Who?"
Just an observation as a bell-icon subscriber; every video seems to focus on what Elon Musk thinks of this or that. It starts to feel like this is an Elon Musk publicity channel. It'd be great if there were a more balanced mix of references to opinions from other leading thinkers as well.
I see how Elon Musk is his main inspiration for he's the only visionary CEO existing in America and perhaps the entire world. We also have Jeff Bezos, but he's a big money making man and just known as the richest man though Amazon is truly an innovation.
Elon is the representative of an alien dynasty that intends to establish an advanced commercial presence on Earth. His authoritarian nature may betray him, and he may self destruct like Trump.

@@fernandoruiz2719 That's the idea. Create a citizenry of specialists that are able to work in tandem with robots and earn a high wage doing it. The future has very little room for mediocrity.
The problem with RBE is its basic premise. That resources are sufficiently abundant enough to meet most if not all of humanities needs. This is just false on its face. For instance. I'm positive millions of people would love to live on the beach. The problem. Is that there is only so much buildable coastline. And even that is lessened by hurricanes, tsunamis, and frequently flooded or rapidly sinking areas. So what to do. How do you ration beach homes in a money free society? Money or rather, price does this naturally by allowing that resource to go towards those who value it most and without direct conflict. (You don't realize you're competing like you would with direct rationing) Its not perfect. Nothing man made is.

A future where there are a handful of good jobs, and a handful of businesses, cannot support a mass society. Though we appear to be heading that way, too many people are being left out, so something has to change. Whether it's a negative income tax (even conservative Milton Friedman was open to that) or some other assistance, we cannot continue to compress the top of the pyramid of success and expect everyone to be content...No one has solved the riddle of the post-industrial nation, but we have to solve it...period...
There could be, but without luxuries that must be earned through work or business venture. This means you'd have a room to game in full time, but only have drinking water and basic food with no worry about bills or becoming unemployed and homeless. The conservative might say there's no such thing as a free lunch, but there is. Today's financial elites and politicians do enjoy socialism and get lots of pay and perks for really doing nothing. It's full on socialism for the wealthy where fine wine, food, flights, and hotels are free to them, but hard capitalism for the rest who must pay high rents so the parasite elite class can have their socialism. What a contradiction all this really is. If the Great Reset for 2030 on World Economic Forum is to be the new thing, then there will be the live for free option in the drop down menu choices, but freedom calling may inspire you to do work and play hard. Or perhaps pick up the gun one day to fight for freedom, liberty, and human rights.
@@verlax8956 Just an idea. While we have many bright ideas how tech is to work in the future, no one really knows how money, economics, and natural resources management works in the future. It's suggested that social market capitalism like I described is how it might or could work better to manage resources aiming to make all life flourish better at a much higher quality standard, but probably not happening for greed and lust for power probably aren't going away anytime soon. Greed and psychopath's lust for power have been among us since the dawn of written humanity about when the pyramids were built and the first governments, farms, and militaries formed close to 5,000 years ago with cuneiform the early language. From our perspective it all birthed out of the Middle East, but there probably were also flourishing civilizations in Asia, Africa, and the Americas too.
Don’t worry big plan is to have 99% of world as children of the govt similar to social credit score system in China. Research it and be careful what you ask for.

For what exactely if everything is free as mentioned in the video? And for what purpose do people go to study if there is no need for labour at all? This vision of the future is flawed on so many levels.....most of all it somehow takes the human condition out of the equation.
@@nobodymister5435 I think it's a double edge sword, like it could be a good thing so people will be able to focus on their passions and what truly matters to them (for ex. family, loved ones etc.) instead of constantly being stressed out financially which is bad for health, on the other side it could be a bad thing as for people who already have jobs that are meaningful to them but got unemployed due to AI taking over then they lose their self-identity because of this or people who are vulnerable and just lost the drive since there's no need to work. Welp, that's just my take, and ik i'm late since this reply is 6 months old lol.
Good or bad everyone no one can truly predict or stop the future. Since I can’t stop it I’m going to try to be interested in the good outcome but not forget the beautiful world right in front of me in the present
The first one doesn't really make sense... If the human has to control the robot what's the point of having a robot? AI can control the robot much better and cheaper.
Those robots would be used in small, cramped convenience stores that require handling lots of different types of small goods, and the stores are open 24/7 so there will always be customers walking around. It's not like an Amazon packing facility where you can easily get tons of efficiency from AI robots. In the future they'll likely be replaced by AI, but by 2022 our AI tech won't be advanced enough to handle such variable environments.
@@KidIcarus135 yeah but what I'm saying is if you're gonna have robots without AI why game them at all? They're just more expensive and less precise human muscle.
@@lifeimagined6171 Like the video said, those robots would be applied in some places of Japan where "human muscle" isn't available (i.e., labor shortages due to aging population, location, disabilities, etc). Of course, if there are plenty of cheap teenagers available for the job, then the robots wouldn't be used. The video isn't presenting this as some universal technology that will replace all convenience store stockers.
I think future be less likely to browsing store. Rather order over kiosk and pick up at door where the store room select order directly from store room deliver to pickup area. But actually if everyone own a home with yard and roof top green house no one need economy
Yep. This is where you could be in one or more truly exciting career fields through virtual working at home which is not a pipe dream for it's become a real thing in 2020 though was a possible pipe dream for many years. It's still limited to finance, IT, accounting, data entry, and executive, but likely to open up during the 2020's and beyond to many different types of machine operators who basically work as professional computer gamers. How cool is that?
There is no such things as free. Even if humans are not required to make things, there is still a cost from running the robots, electricity bills, price of buying resource materials , land lease for plant set up, the actual cost of buying all those robots and equipment. How can things become free??? Even if robots completely replace humans in manufacturing and production of goods, things will not get cheaper to buy as your income will drastically decrease. UBI is very basic , allows you not to starve and buy only what’s necessary. It will not be enough to pay for your house mortgage, rent , furniture, nice household electrical goods, robots and other luxuries. And as population increase further into future there will be more poverty and hunger. With full automation there will be even less land left for agriculture and farming and create food shortages for humans So your assumptions on everything free for humans are not correct
Well, for several decades into the future, there will definetly be jobs for humans. We under estimate our brains' capabilities, our adaptability and our manual dexterity. However, the era of "mass employment" will come to an end for human. But that I mean, legions of people driving vehicles, cooking food, etc.

How to make money in a post money world through buying autonomous machines? Why would you need to make money in a post money world that only needs a small number of people to work? Instead of UBI and socialism, wouldn't those in charge just ignore those they don't need to be just starved out left homeless for dead or perhaps pitted against one another using divisive rhetoric and manufactured crisis's? It would be truly kind and generous to do away with debt based economics of greed and societal breakdown, but it's not a problem solved by tech nor one that anyone knows how to solve. It could be solved using tech if the resources are made fully available where it's not prohibit expensive. Everyone having necessities of life such as housing, food, and water would be a good start while money could be earned for luxuries like taking a vacation, playing a PS5, or drinking cognac. I too dream of nice clean functioning cities that work to produce fantastic experiences of culture, the arts, and life without all the homeless drama and violent crime dangers.

Unfortunately the world is not so socially prepared for the incredible news that the Fourth Industrial Revolution brings us. We will have to rethink our economic and social model to adapt to this new Era if we do not want to enter into a great crisis. Instead of paying people to control a shelf stocking robot, why not just pay people to stock shelves? No need for expensive robots and networking equipment.
Kind of find it hard to believe people in China are now controlling robots from home to stock shelves in stores for $9 an hour. Not sure what the benefits are to have a robot do your job at half the speed, everything they got today is slow. I agree it's a good opportunity for old, disabled or in some cases hard to find someone to even come in to do the job. But were just not there with speed and reliability, these things cost way too much and the maintenance would be through the roof with repairs and lost revenue. Also what about the people that are capable of doing the work and need employment only to find out grandma got the job.
People will invent some way that limits the distribution of "limitless labor in form of AI" and the gains of income it brings. People will still be doing the "bullshit jobs" as described by David Graeber. The same way as mechanisation and mass production in early XXth century was supposed to set humans free from manually assembling everything and doing every task, and make our workweek a few days long only, like J. M. Keynes imagined. But since then we invented whole world of other jobs taking this gained time amount with analysing, advertising, influencing, consulting, assissting and other services instead of hard manufacturing.

If there is a zero money society and everyone paid equal, this means no personal wealth from working and innovating. If no gain from working then why work? This type of economic way of working will lead to any type of productive progress, and the producing of products. It will be impossible to get the complete world operate like this. @@Worldofourown2024 not visionary enough. Just an act of saying something needing a lot of others to do the physical to make it happen as well as to clean up the mess. I think robots will just be smart machines working alongside needed humans. A much less human presence may be the trend for a given life of these machines, but come maintenance or replacement when things break down, it will be a human logistic mess. E.g. no one will know how to repair the US F-14 Tomcat or the manufacture of its exact spare parts nowadays after people moved on. This world of robots will bring on its entire set of challenges for the humans. How much of it and how intense to incorporate into our society will be the present moot questions.
