Today’s topic is how to make money on an H4 visa or making passive income on an H4 visa.
Please note we are not immigration lawyers and we don't offer legal advice. Everything on the channel is based on our research so if you choose to act on it, use your own discretion.
For those of you who don’t know or are new to the US or are thinking of coming to the US, let me say this - You cannot work on an H4 visa without a work permit. We’ve done plenty of videos on this, we answer almost 100s of DMs almost every week on our Instagram channel.
The sad fact is, you cannot work on an H4 visa. And no, even freelancing is not allowed. Nor is working for a company in India where you get paid in INR is allowed.
So, you might be thinking, if we can’t work on an H4 visa, then how can we make money?
Well, there are a few ways and I’ll discuss that with you here.

that's weird. if it was premium, you should've heard back by now. Ask your husband to check with his attorney who filed.

What if I already have a youtube channel which is monetized considering the situation that I got the h4 visa. Can I work on it? Also can I work on B1/B2 on my youtube channel while in USA?

You can earn passive income on the videos published in India. You cannot monetize any new videos that you upload while on H4 visa. On B1 B2 you can monetize of course because you're not going to stay in the country for more than 6 months.

They won't immediately but if they do an audit on you during GC or work visa RFE then there is a change it will get flagged because it's not legal

It’s a rule set by US that when you are in US, and even when you work for a foreign nation paying you in any form, you need to have a work permit. Period.

My husband has applied for i-140 on 1st March2023.. please suggest how much time it will take to get perm, i-140 and my H4-EAD..

He must have PERM done which is why he could apply for i-140. I-140 can be applied in premium processing too so it can come as early as in 15 days if it was applied in premium. After that you can apply for EAD and you should get it in 3-4 months

You shouldn't. A lot of people do cash jobs illegally.. but we don't advise that.. basically you're not allowed to work unless you have a work permit.

You can do whatever you want if you have an EAD. The passive money while renewal is on is fine. Because you'll eventually have the EAD by the time you file your taxes
