Mark, I... had an idea. Tie a binder clip to your dust collection hose a ways back from your power tool. Use the binder clip to lift the power cord and hold it off the work surface. This may require more than one binder clip depending on cord length and the source locations of power and dust collection but might be worth a try.

Great video, as always, Mark, so many great little touches. Not sure how many of the tool deaths were true-to-life vs. dramatic effect but please tell me you didn't let a sander die just for sanding through the cord - that's what electrical tape is for! @SuperBollus
@SuperBollus 10 месяцев назад
I am laughing at 2 things..."my saw shit itself" and "pull it out of my freckle". I hope the rest of the world understands this.🤣 As a kid i grew up on the Darling Downs. My Grandfather built a beautiful house by himself as well as being a smithy, so I got a taste for making stuff early. 30 years ago I managed a joinery on The Tablelands that had all the proper gear and when things were slow I would go out into the joinery (solid wood, none of that chipboard shit) and the boys would show me the tricks. Now I am in the land of the CrowEaters with no shed space other than a unit garage. My table saw is a sheet of melamine with a 180mm Makita turned upside down and a pretty dodgy fence set up. I do have a router table but apart from that it's "McGyveried" all the way. Made some pretty nice stuff for friends though but never been paid for my stuff. Recently told work what they could do so I started working with pallet wood which is a challenge but hey, that's what it's all about. Love your vids mate.

A hand circular saw? A router? I'm thinking of a 3 layer shoe shelf to start. I can get "Ht" pallets from a buddy who owns a shop btw.
