Been watching your vids for quite a while now, your life n woodworking approach is inspirational........ but this video is the first that's had me in tears......... the ending!!!!! Omg....... great stuff, thank you
Congrats on the promotion and thank you for being such a great inspiration! I recently left shift work as a firefighter working a 24/48 schedule for a 9-5. It was a big adjustment, but having weekends off consistently and being able to spend time with my family every night has made it well worth it. Praying for all the best in your journey ahead!
MY Brother from another Mother !!!! Love your videos and sad to see they may be longer pauses between them.Just to let you know this ex -pat from America living in Switzerland has JUST GOT STARTED> Stay well
My views and subscription is complete buddy great work and good inspiration for me as I’m also dipping my feet into the property renovation side but as I’m good at joinery I want to also make some furniture too so way to go pal good luck for the future and as a bonus hear goes my comment too mate.
Just watched this again, now that I'm home & not in a little hotel room, in the middle of a noisy city, getting ready to go out to dinner... only to discover that I was 4mins away from finishing it last time !!! The best 4mins!! 😭🤣😭🤣😭 you are a hero Dainsey, in more areas of life than you probably are aware. Here's to many, many more pay days 🧡
@dainermade cheers brother man! Thank you for being a capital GC & injecting nothing but good vibes into the universe, it's the fuel we all need & clearly energises & inspires around the globe 🙌🧡
If you were to live near a lumber mil you could get all that wood for next to nothing. Much of their scraps get burned or chipped. That would be much less heartache of fooling with used pallets. You also wouldn't have to worry about the chemicals and contamination that comes with used pallets. Lastly you are completely discounting the time and effort to hunt down used pallets.
Ok, now that I'm watching it again after a couple years of dabbling and doing, I understand the process much better ... and *almost* believe that it's *almost* time to give it a go here on the other side of the planet. Does the glue come out of the bottle counter-clockwise down there?! #checksquare #chamferfeelsgood
@dainermade If I weren't visiting my daughters (and Grandboyo!) this week, I would! I do have a slabby glue-up in the corner of my bedroom right now that I did a few months ago (first try, and it's still solid, don'cha know?). Now, I just have to not be too precious with it and actually turn it into something. Soon, I promise.
Yo Dainsey, in my humble opinion, this is your best offering to us spectators out here in youtube land. Thank you for sharing your back story, explains so much more as to why you are the excellent human that you are. I am going to say something here that may go against popular opinion. Unless you are completely unhappy in your current career, I hope you stick with it. If i was ever in a position where I needed to be saved by a helicopter, i would definitely want you to be the fella reeling me in. Either way you go, I wish you the best of luck bro.
Thanks Zac, it is hard to be unhappy at my current job, more im a little worn out. I’m looking forward to the new role as well as the training component. Teaching a few young whipper snappers will be very rewarding for me. And I’ll still cover the roster when people go on leave. So I should find a nice healthy mix now. Thanks again my man
@@dainermade I can only imagine how exciting and rewarding your job is. I can definitely relate to being worn out on a career. It's hard to keep that passion going once a guy spends 20+ years of his life doing the same thing. I am stoked you will be teaching some of these young bucks and showing them the way. They are lucky to have that experience!
I've been doing the four on four shift pattern for 20+ years now and like you can't ever see a Monday to Friday gig ever hitting the spot, so best of luck with the new role. Just know that both of your jobs are helping others in some way, Thanks for the great content.👍👍
I scored big today. Picked up some old wooden bedframes with lovely straight slats just laying on the side of the road. Hall way entrance table leg thingys just waiting to be made and screwed to pallet wood tops. I don't have a jointer, so these are a massive bonus. Love your work. Now that I've started I see wood everywhere and the possibility of what it could become once I get it home. Cheers.
Thanks for making this video and congratulations on your 100th episode. The thing I really love about your videos Is your genuine nature and lovely personality, your positivity and roundednessis particularly infectious. Here to another 100
Mate, I've been watching your vids for quite some time now. The choice you've made professionally is a logic one, no worries. The Canadians being inspired by your humble self and your vids is indeed the best 'payout' ever. Wish you (and your team/family) all the best for the foreseeable future and we'll be here; getting started and/or going on. Thanks for inspiring 🤠👊
I use pallet wood often in projects. I always pressure wash them before I break them down. I do this mostly for a basic clean up and to get any fine particles from whatever was sitting on them during shipping. It also cleans up the wood from any spillage etc. that may stain the wood.
