@@JohnAquariusPodcast I still have screenshots f the first time you enter the customs/promonade and the viewports start closing as your damage ship floats by. Been bringing up the courage use my good paints and reproduce that scene/feel on some canvas.
Yeah it’s incredible. I’ve played it through so many times. Every difficulty setting now. It’s amazing cos every game play is different, you think you have an area sussed and the alien isn’t predictable, apart from the scheduled appearances. Interestingly the alien is less predictable on the easier levels.
Survival horror was redefined here. THIS wasn't a game, it was an EXPERIENCE. I got the same feeling I felt while riding a roller coaster (remember those?) after playing this game. It's so well done. There isn't much else I can say about it except that THIS is how Resident Evil 3 Remake's Nemesis should've been programmed.
OH MY GOD!!! Finally someone who shares my EXACT same thoughts on Alien Isolation!!! I've been saying the same thing for ages.. This wasn't nearly as much of a game as it was an experience, the quality that this team of devs/designers put into it falls way past the soil/threshold for it to be considered a masterpiece. If willing to immerse yourself in it (which sadly most people didn't do while playing it), this is by far the most intense and terrifying experience ever. Absolute masterpiece.
Playing it without dying once was a challenge, but i got it, played the game also more than 5 times and still playing it since its the best survival stealth horror game out there
To me, this is the real Alien 3. Alien Isolation is a better Alien movie than most of the actual Alien movies. And it goes without saying that it is, by FAR, the best Alien game.
One of the best experiences i've had on the previous-gen consoles, the art direction and sound design were some of the best i've ever encountered, this game, with a good pair of headphones was a true, groundbreaking "next-gen" experience at the time (and still is) - i'd go as far as to say that the only thing that came even remotely close was trying VR for the 1st time. Also : this is the best thing that happened to the Alien franchise since...Aliens (1986) and a real continuation to Alien (1979), the rest of the franchise might as well not exist, i mean, it's THAT good... Shame that it didn't sell well due to its "difficulty". Creative Assembly, if you're reading this, please, please try to convince the powers that be and create a sequel, 1st game is a masterpiece being extremely true to the lore with amazing art direction and sound production, we need more of that !
@@JohnAquariusPodcast right people are really upset about tgat like, i saw it as a break. no alien insight u really are safe completely for a moment. and its just wow. i think altho, i want a sequel my heart knows a sequel isnt needed, this game broke the matrix. its so well crafted and had an actual vision.. not just a cashgrab they really re-invented the alien franchise in a way that makes sense if you ask me
Thank-you to all your creative geniuses! The game is a true masterpiece and with the addition of VR takes it to a whole new level of immersive horror...
I'm a huge fan of Jurassic Park and Alien Isolation, I watched all the movies, I played all the major games and I can say that it would be a great game and I would certainly play it if they create a game in the Jurassic Park universe.
@@IsoSubject5 It seems to be a good game even more as I said I love dinosaurs and Alien Isolation, thanks for talking about this game otherwise I wouldn't even have a clue that this game existed.
You can see how passionate they are developing the game Even intro when you booting the game after 20century fox those Retro intro like original movies back then
For the 20s Century Fox intro they used the real footage from a VHS copy of the original Alien film. They did a similar thing for other screens and videos like the loading screen: recorded it on a VHS and messed around with it while it was running for the scratchy old effects
There were times where I would just stop running and just look around and just take in the Details. I would just be captivated by the visuals the tech the structures the co Everything was just simply breath taking.
This is by far my favourite game I’ve played to date. Everything from the lighting/cinematography, sound design, soundtrack, AI behaviour/scenarios, art style, levels etc... is just perfect. It’s a really well constructed game that should have gotten more appreciation. Hopefully in the future we would be able to see continuation of Alien Isolation.
This game is a masterpiece! Bought it when it was released for Linux and was completely blown away. Worth every cent. The atmosphere, the sound, the smokes here and there, the lights, the working joes, etc. Everything was perfect! Just finished playing it again last week (in normal mode, not sure I will ever dare playing on harder difficulties). Uncountable times my wife and I would shrink and move backwards in sheer terror of many situations in the game.
This game is a masterpiece, if you've never played it you truly are missing out, it's one hell of an experience, and the set design is so accurate that it looks like it could BE the movie.
i played the game when it came out and i was just terrified.. it has such a scary and uncomfortable atmosphrere.. i played it again a few days ago and its still terrifying.. great respect for the devs 🤩 such a fantastic game 🤘
0:47 perfect description of the horror you feel in alien isolation. There are many times where I'm too damn focused on wondering where the alien is at that I forgot the other threats
One of the best and most atmospheric horror games there are. It was the first game we played on our first playstation and it just blew us away. We always looked for a similar experience after that but no game came even close to this awesome experience. I would be so happy if they made another one.
It is my favorite game of all time. I am currently playing it again on my Valve Index in VR. I am 42 and I am gaming since I am 12. This is like being in the movie, and the best one
Hello from Germany, I played through Alien Isolation 2020 for the first time on the PS4. I found the game really good back then. I was born in 1967 and belong to the older generation of players.I love computer games and have built up a huge collection. In 2022 I platinumed Alien Isolation on the PS4. If I had known how awesome the highest difficulty level is, I would have done it beforehand. I've played countless horror computer games, even the classics like Silent Hill and Resident Evil don't come close to this ingenious horror from Alien Isolation. For me, Alien Isolation is the best horror computer game of all time so far. 👽💀👻👏👏👏
I bought this game the day it came out & It’s my all-time favorite! I’m playing it through till the ending for the 4th time. I just love being immersed in the universe of this experience.
AvP2(2001) used to be my favorite Alien game until Isolation was released. The developers showed maximum respect to the franchise and Alien fans and in the process created a terrifing game true to the canonical universe of Alien.
This game is piss your pants scary. The immersion is breath taking, and the Xenomorph is absolutely horrifying. Ive played most survival horror games, and this was the only one that I was honestly scared to play. This game is an absolute masterpiece
One of the best games ever made. Just perfect. The atmosphere is just spectacular. But the sound design I think is perhaps the greatest in any game. It just shows that the people involved were into it all the way, they have complimented the climate of the first Alien movie in the most humble way.
I played this game with my brother. He was wearing a headphone and I was using the controller. This was so much fun and definitely agree with everything they said. I never felt safe and was even scared to move because the manual saving makes everything weigh so much. If you don’t save you have to EVERYTHING again. So fun!
This game I've completed more than once and each time it's been breathtaking... more so with the MotherVR mod. This game sends shivers down my spine, my heart racing as my body tenses up when I get caught by the xenomorph. It's the only game that triggers flight or fight response.
Alien Isolation wasn't nearly as much of a game as it was an *experience*, the quality that this team of devs/designers put into it falls way past the threshold for it to be considered a masterpiece. If willing to immerse yourself in it (i.e. play alone in the dark, with good sound), this is by far the most intense and terrifying experience ever in the history of horror. Absolute masterpiece. It is absolutely *APPALLING* that it was bashed down by all the critics out there, just because it distinguished itself from all other videogames, in that it was a high quality product rather than a quick low-quality / half arsed money grab, like 99% of games that come out even today by (what used to be) "AAA" companies... "Critics" my ass.
i tried playing this game but it gave me motion sickness. and turning down the speed didn't help because i put it on it's lowest setting and it didn't even slow down the turning even a little.
I think Alien:isolation is better than Outlast.the establishment of horrifying atmosphere is groundbreaking in this generation, makes yourself play as the protagonist of the game, very Imerssive and thrilling, that's the essence of build of the horror survivor genre. its a underestimate gem.
