I would say that if ur machine lacks internal cooling u should buy solid carbide drills, not the ones with holes for the coolant. I used to machine a lot of 2344 along with 2738 when I was working in a Mold factory and ur maybe to low on Vc, I used to drill at 60-70Vc fz depending on Ø around 0.18mm/rev for that Ø and worked like a charm. AND most important of all, the length of the hole where u brake those tools disapears on the roughin OP so, why not drill after the roughin have already been done or even in 2nd OP... High Speed Milling cutters dont like holes in their path.. Carbide breaks on those spots
This video satisfies me in a very romantic way :) Reminds me of my last job as a CNC operator! Fridays lateshift...no more stress for this week, only 4 workers in the workshop left, writing some kick ass programms on the Hurco/Heidenhain, enjoy the sunset in the break...cleaning up the machine and finally 10pm turning the lights off and have a late night snack and coffee with your collegue at the next gas station....sometimes I miss my Hurco VMX 42 and Wotan Rapid Bohrwerk :')
internal cooling pumps are rather special in cnc machines and cost several thousand euros on most machines, normal cooling pumps are rather in the price range of carbide drills which is at 140-250+ euros, also you don't need internal cooling if you optimize the drill cycle for hardened stuff :)
Hello, we make similar parts on similar machines(and similar language), Love Your Vids :) But after this one i have to ask You about 'problems'. Why You didn't made these holes on horizontal machine, if you made face and other holes on that? better chips remove... Last week I have the same problem... Great job at all, great outro :) Pozdrawiam Filip
I think that block is the insertos of the large mold you milled last time, if not probably because of the height of the open pocket in the mold . Where are you from?
@@CncFrezar I broke an 4mm carbide drill few days ago and it was a pain to get out. I was lucky, that it wasnt any critical feature. Drilling s355 steel is annoying, since the chip control and chip nesting is bad... Pecking is the only way 😬 Feel your pain!
