A more audio than visual walk through as to how we constructed and made the now infamous "Steve Wright in the afternoon...Great Britain" Theme. This piece was played a few times per day on BBC Radio 2 since 2010 until his departure on September 30th 2022. That is a lot of plays and thank you.

It was the sound of the trombone that I really liked. It gave it a rather grand and majestic feel, but was instantly recognisable. RIP Steve Wright.

Love these videos AJ - thanks. What a talented roster of musicians you have (Grade 3 violin here.....nuff said). I think your contributions to Steve's "sound" (and lets not forgot your speaking parts!!!) were such a key part of his "perfect storm". Your musical branding, which seamlessly fitted in with the station's (whether 1FM or 2FM!) gave it a much bigger scale - almost a station-within-a-station. The shows (and I'm thinking particularly of the afternoon show when Captain Beerling was on the bridge), had such an enormous, utterly untouchable sound with a personality all of it's own. Work to be proud of dude.

Phenomenal - only found this today. I just can’t believe how layered and complex this theme is - just took it for granted when it was used as part of the show on the air. Every single element is brilliant - from the drums to the vocals. Just brilliant - thanks for sharing, AJ
