Steve was the afternoon for us if you were having a crap day he got you through it ilm never get over that day we heard the announcement he was going you could tell he was reading what helen Thomas told him to read this woman simply hasn't a clue and never wil have she states she wants radio 2 to attract younger audience how then is Jeremy vine show still on i listened to radio 2 since i was 6 years old im 58 now Helen Thomas ruined radio 2 Terry wogan would be watching down in horror

Legand, Steve put so much in his shows, never got the credit he deserves, always remember the best, steve wright in the afternoon now playing everywhere, radio 2 will never be the same. Always loved AJ’s jingles not only for the jingles he done for Steve wright whilst he was on Radio One/Two but all the other jingles he and his team created for radio stations in the UK and beyond

I (somewhat naughtily) used it on my tribute show to Steve and immediately it brought up memories of his radio show over the years from the audience... maybe now its also tinged with a little sadness, but that's just shows the impact that it had... incredible work AJ. 👏❤❤
Same here! Absolutely open to admitting that I nicked it for this, but I'm sure AJ and team will fully understand and stand with us in our sadness and our missions to do Wrighty proud. I did feel a spot of guilt and fear when I saw AJ's tweet about people misusing it and mentioning his lawyers (eek!) since it's not _FOR_ me, but that show was for Steve, not for me.
Afternoons not the same and did we realise how lucky we were to have this great talent. We do so now if not before. Come here for respite and remember how great you were Steve. Sanity in this crazy country today.
This is as sad 😔 as can be ? You I was a chef for many years from a trainee chef to a head chef , as always there is a radio in the kitchen of cause it was Steve right ✅️. Right through my chef Career sadly 😥 many kitchens have almost diminished into a hush 😯 Rip to this wonderful man n Thanyou for your hours of listening to you ! 😊.
I can't imagine that because Steve as passed away this STONKING tune will die with him. This is wrong on all levels and the BBC should play this every day in honour of having incredible employee like Steve Wright. 😢😢😢
Listened to that with a lump in my throat, what a legend! Damn the despicable BBC I’m sure they contributed to his sad demise. We’ll never hear anyone as good as him!😢
Thank you Steve Wright for brightening up my afternoon at 2pm all those years. I am very sad he has gone. And the replacements are nowhere near . Nowhere near the level of Steve.
This tune always plays in my head around 5pm Monday to Friday and brings a tear to my eyes everytime I hear it, Steve brightened up the afternoons with his mix of wit, charm, sheer professionalism, and a sense of fun, things just aren't the same anymore. Proud of yourself Auntie Beeb in a bid to get of him and resultant dying a few days later?
