I always felt like KHII didn’t have as much of the “Disney Magic” as the first game did, and this is one of the main reasons why, in addition to an overall lack of quirkiness and more emphasis on technology. Just compare Traverse Town and Twilight Town.
@@artificialoutput True... kinda wish that the designs of Dream Eaters and Nightmares were less anthropomorphic, and more Lovecraftian dream nightmares haha
I wish I can look up the history of the development. Especially the story. Kingdom Hearts is an okay Idea, and the gameplay is fun, but anyone saying that Kingdom heart's story is "ground breaking" needs to go to a library and read some books.
@@Celestialbeing21 I mean it is entertaining especially with the 'The Lost Master Arc' and Back Cover, Union X, Dark Road etc. Especially now that we have youtubers who can break down the story so regular ppl can understand it.
14:08 - "There are always hints hidden somewhere in the game. I personally don't like including conversation that is totally irrelevant to the story or interrupts the flow of the game." "The snowstorm can't get us here." "I betcha there's a lucky emblem here." "This might be a good spot to find some ingredients."
The series is now legal on this day March 27th 2020, (it’s the 28th in Japan at the time) Happy 18th Anniversary to this Legendary series, it’s still hard to believe that this game exists all because of a Elevator Ride and the fact that it was inspired from Super Mario 64, also #Sora4Smash
I Still Remember The Day Me and My bestfriend Being At Blockbuster Finding This Game Picking Up the Case for the First time And Us just being Completely blown away By the Cover And Beautiful Art style it became our Favorite Game For years We spent Hours, Days, Weeks, playing this game Trying To 100% This game I miss My childhood It seems like yesterday Where does the Time Go?
Well, Kairi isn't a princess either, but she is a princess of heart. Being an actual princess seems to have no bearing on who a princess of heart is. It just so happens that most of them are actual princesses as well
@@roselinecioran3774 I suppose she could be? There've been weirder twists, but that would make Ansem the Wise her dad, which there's been no indication of throughout the entire series thus far
I mean... it’s everything that corporate Disney stands against. They care way too much about brand management, and they prefer unimaginative, safe projects to anything that would mess with the status quo of the properties. They would 100% cancel the series of it didn’t make fucktons of money for them.
@@xww6849 yeah.. disney makes nice stuff but they have their ways of business. I understand its complicated and Nomura said one of the hardest things is that Disney changes employees and policies so much that its hard to streamline anything
@@eggintheshell9801 After KH2 in my opinion disney just became a ball and chain on the ankle of kingdom hearts. You can see it clear as day in kh3 wayyyyy to much power in the relationship on disneys side. Barley any original story telling in the worlds + ridiculous additions like attraction flow. The story should have continued down a different path and left disney behind if it were to succeed in the current climate
The idea that the Heartless come from a world of scant resources and invade Disney worlds to take their magic, happiness and goodness sounds really cool and is not at all conveyed in the game. It's all just reduced to edgy talk of light and darkness.
I was thinking the same... and how on the other hand it just barely scratches the surface of where this series and its story went. Kinda crazy to watch.
@@panterxbeats I would say this was an early draft idea that they retconned or ditched for the current lore. Current lore is... a mess. This initial idea is a lot more interesting.
@@mrbabluep The lab born ones are created by removing people's hearts iirc. It's been a little bit since I last played the game but I'm pretty sure this was explained in Ansem's notes. But even so, it's kind of vague that heartless are born from darkness but also from hearts but they also consume hearts? It honestly reeks of a ton of ad hoc worldbuilding.
Interesting Making Of, but they are not quite honest about who were the first to produce animated films. They say it were Disney this is not true. The first animated film is from 1906 "Houmorous Phases of Funny Faces" by J. Stuart Blackton, It is a short film and you can find it on youtube. The first feature length animated film is "El Apóstol" 1917 animated by Quirino Cristiani. These were all silent films. So one might think that Diseney made the first animated film with synchronized sound, but naw that is not true either. It were Dave and Max Fleischer (who would establish Fleischer Studios, Inc. in 1933) with "My Old Kentucky Home" published by Red Seal Pictures in 1926 about two years before Walt Disney's "Steamboat Willie". These two films are also on youtube, if anyone is interested in animated film history.
Wait Disney was the one that brought up the idea and came to Square Enix?! I had no idea all these years and would never would have thought that would happen!
I feel so stupid for not subscribing to PlayStation Underground, they seemed to always have more stuff on their demo discs than the U.S. PlayStation Magazine demos.
Idk... But i am glad nomura choose donald and goody as party member for sora... If he choose mickey, i think KH will feel different and not big right now ... ~
It's the location that gave all three of the characters the impetus and drive to explore the world. Their world is so limited that they're naturally compelled to seek out other worlds. This allows Riku to fully embrace wherever he's headed no matter the costs. It's also a link to the door to darkness, which Ansem explicitly states in KH1. So yeah, it's important to the story.
