@@literallyjustchickensandwich Ratchet & Clank Going Commando is good too, they’re both fantastic games, plus Ratchet & Clank Going Commando improves on the formula.
Awww this stuff takes me back to a simpler time on gaming when developers actually cared about their products and finished games on release, where there was no loot boxes or microtransactions. Ratchet & Clank was truly a genre defining game that popularized the idea of weapons in 3D platformers, they reinvented the genre and made great use of the PS2’s hardware to create amazing, detailed worlds. A truly amazing, revolutionary classic that still holds up to this day!
And here I am in 2021, taking a break from Rift Apart to eat and watching this video. It's unbelievable how far gaming has come since this video was made! And it was already incredible even back then!
Watched this on my copy of Jampack Winter 2002. So cool rewatching now. What an amazing video. The enthusiasm the insomniacs have while talking about this game is so infectious. You can just tell how proud they are of it.
@@Channel-ji3ly If they put the PS4 R&C and the upcoming PS5 one on I would consider PS now. Or even the whole R&C collection, that would be amazing to play them all from PC, although I have most of them for PS3 anyway.
THIS is real art and craftsmanship. Imagine how many games that took inspiration from the R&C series! I really miss the sense of creativity and the amount of pure talent that built this game, compared to all the soul less regurgitated garbage games that comes out these days. It’s almost like the creators of R&C ACTUALLY cared about their work….
If they wanted to break away and improve Platformers they definitely did an amazing job half the time you forget that it's even a platformer Amazing game I recently decided to replay the series on emulator just finished the second game and I'm having a lot more fun than I thought I would it made me realize that it's not that I enjoy video games less at all the video games being made are not games that I enjoy as much
They used this "blowing" phrase to catch the attentions of americans, obviously, but in actuality R&C is not at all about "blowing things up". Ratchet is never happy to just "blow things up", he does so for a very specific reason and the entire series is so story-driven, the weapons exist and make for a wonderful gameplay, but they certainly aren't the point nor focus of anything inside these games, not even a focus in the story itself, like, ever.
