Breaking down the myth of the unicity of the psyche, the façade of the all governing ego, is a key step to harmonizing the different facets of our being. A more balanced ego working in tandem with the unconscious is the goal. Obviously, active imagination is a thousand times better because its more direct and it really knows whats inside. But its a good start point, highly recommend it :)
