Dude, that was awesome. I tuned in because I wanted to learn how to cut a beveled edge on some marine seadek for my bass boat. Thanks!

Love your videos. So informative and clear. My biggest challenge right now is cutting complimentary bevels on two pieces in order for them to fit together flush. Thank you for all the resources!

FoamWerks makes a tool that can cut a 90 or 45 degree angle, and it's relatively inexpensive. Odin Makes used one recently and he really liked it. My question is how to bevel both sides to get something like a blade edge? Every time I tried I kept cutting the same direction, even if I flipped it over.

I have seen that, it seems pretty cool! :). Perfect! That is a great question that I think a lot of people have struggled with, I will add it to my video list! :). In the mean time a couple thing that can help is actually using a Dremel to do it instead and you can mark with a line or tape how far in you want the bevel to go and Mark a center line on the side of your foam and you sand it down at that angle between those two lines, flip it and repeat. :)

Bevels! Thanks for the video, very helpful. On a different note, I'm gonna need to know where you got the jumbo Lego Anakin and that pretty sword behind him.
@CosplayApprentice
@CosplayApprentice 3 года назад
Yay!! I'm so glad it was helpful!!! :). Hahaha, the Lego anakin guy is actually an alarm clock and unfortunately I don't know where to get it as I got it from an activity a youth group was doing in my neighborhood. They started with a random item and went door to door trying to trade up for something cooler and see which group would end up with the coolest thing! I got anakin in the trade. :) In my opinion I got the better end of the trade ;). As for the sword, that is Inigo montoya's sword that I made out of moldable Thermoplastic :)

I haven't done one yet but I will be soon, it will be on undercuts and then I will do another one on getting perfect groove cuts.

What knife should I use to cut 6mm wtf ? Edit: just looked at the description of the video. Thanks!!! (I bought the small set + wtf)

Hey! Great question, a retractable utility knife is what I use. I've found I need a little more length on the blade than a hobby knife.

@CosplayApprentice 3 года назад
Thanks for sitting through it. :) Hopefully you found it helpful once I got to the point :). I did this video back before I had much video equipment and so we tried to do them all in one take and as you can see I tend to ramble a bit when I'm not scripted, hahaha😂. Let me know if you think I should re-film this one to help people learn the info faster. :). Thanks for your feedback it is always super helpful to know how I can make my videos better! :)

Definitely refilm it. Show several times how you got the 45 degree cut with a plain exacto knife and do it 20 seconds int the video, not after 5 minutes.

@Cosplay Apprentice i don't create content but do consume. Some have a video into sections that are labeled. For example "intro, type of foam, type of knife, grip and cutting, word from sponsor, outro" its super helpful. Sections can also shows up in google searches when the title alone may not. Great vid, don't redo this video, screw that guy, he csn fast-forward and the entire thing is only 10 minutes
