Love making floats myself , very addictive , I make my black fish floats with Kabab sticks and corks , saftypins cut and shaped to fit for the line to go through and nail polish as well for the decoration, been doing it since the early 80,s , still make them today just for fun and give them away to fishos hen I’m out fishing , people love hand made gear , you did a great job . Awesome video mate . 👍

That was very interesting and so simple in the end. A follow up video fishing with the home made floats would be great. Keep up the great videos Ed. Cheers.

Nice. You’re right, it’s fun and satisfying to make your own tackle. I ordered some porcupine quills from China and painted them with nail polish. I like your local recycled pelican feather better. (Hopefully, the Chinese porcupine also died of natural causes.🥺) I use the quill float to catch garfish off the pier in quiet bays. They work well with a small split shot. Thanks Ed.

I also have some old porcupine quills but I thought they were illegal to get these days.

Nice work. What type of varnish do you use. I suppose the cord you were using is for fishing rod binding, fly lure tying. This would be nice to do when the weather is against us and fishing is not able to be enjoyed. Thanks for the inspiration.
