Nobody shows how the lines attach to the floats they make. Nice video though.

I intended to, but while I was trout fishing casting spinners - someone borrowed the float from my tackle box. I wanted to include how to rig it and more footage of actual fishing, but the float was nowhere to be found. I attached the line with clear tubes, the ones that are used with aquarium air pumps. Just slip two pieces onto the mast and keel and it'll secure the line. At the end of the video, there is a close up where you can see how the line is attached.

Can you also use oil based paint for this?

Oil-based paint will definitely work. You just need to make sure that the clear coating that will be applied on top of the paint won't react with the paint. I had this happened. This is easy to test. Paint a piece of wood with the paint and when it is dry - apply the coating. If the paint doesn't run or wrinkle - you're good to go.

May take a few tries but it is not difficult. And materials are inexpensive. Be on the lookout for dry reeds when outdoors.

Can i use Bamboo for the Main Body ?

I've never tried but I don't see a reason why not. It should work if you find stems of the right size. May turn out even better because bamboo has partitions that will make floats waterproof without too much sealant. You will probably need to cut above partitions so you can insert keel and mast.
