Simply add water to a keg. Pressurize and chill over night and then increase the pressure for serving up to 30-40 PSI.
Below are affiliate links, it doesn't cost you anything extra but I do make a small commission on anything you buy using the link, which in turn does help support the channel.

If you chill the keg, 30psi for 3 minutes will have it carbbed nicely. Having a colder liquid(water,beer,etc...) will desolve the co2 into solution much faster. Cheers 🍻

That is what I have learned but thanks for the tip!

Ya let me just take out my keg and CO2 tank

This set up is common for homebrewing beer and is comparable in cost to the soda stream but I find it more versatile. A CO2 tank is refillable/exchangeable and I have found the cost of changing it out to be only ~$9

❤❤Amazing! What’s the start up cost… I’m trying to see if I can convince the hubby

So to get started you will need A CO2 Tank (there are refillable options available similar to propane exchanges) A Keg (if you are on a budget trying get it used like from your local homebrew store) A CO2 regulator Tubing, grey gas connects and a tap With all that said you might be looking at between $200-300, which can see a little steep but it is comparable to a soda stream and is more versatile Also for a more budget option check out my video on making bottled seltzer water at home as it doesnt require a keg, decreasing the overall cost by around $100

I so want to do this. Have you found a cheap way to flavor your water? I love flavorless sparkling water but I LOVE my lemon and grapefruit water. Would it be possible to add fruit to the keg for flavoring? Or is there an alternative to that?

If you are looking for a lower calorie option you could boil the lemon/grapefruit peel into the water, cool it down and then carbonate. For citrus juice I normally just add it afterwards to the glass.

Ben, I'm just ordering my parts and supplies now. The "Tap" for Soda is my biggest concern. What have you learned about "Taps"?

Are you looking to connect it to a kegerator or dispense right from the keg. If you are going to dispense right from the keg I would recommend a picnic tap as they have small foot print and can wrap around the keg when in the fridge. If you want something fancy the nukatap with flow control is what I would suggest

Thank You, @@RecipeswithBen , the nukatap is what I have been looking at. Connect to a mobile kegerator, that I want to look professional.

Interested to know how much bite this water has? Is it better than store bought?
@RecipeswithBen
@RecipeswithBen 7 месяцев назад
When I make it at home I either use filtered water or buy RO water from the store filling a reusable jug. I find it similar to bubbly water from a tap like at a restaurant but with the ability to dial the carbonation level (30 PSI, which is really carbonated and how I prefer it.) But if you drink a lot of soda water this cuts out the need to keep buying can or bottles as I just pour from my tap. Also during the colder winter months I can use the ambient temperature of my garage to keep it cold. Hope that long winded answer helps and feel free to ask any other questions you might have.

Looking to do this myself, does the keg have to be attached to the cO2 when it goes into the fridge?
@RecipeswithBen
@RecipeswithBen Год назад
It can if you have a way to feed the gas line into the fridge like in a kegerator but I don’t have space in my fridge so I just take the keg out when I want it, attach the gray gas connect to the tank and set it for serving pressure (20-30 Psi for seltzer) and then use either a picnic tap or the one in the video then remove it and place the keg back in the fridge to keep cold.

Great video. Can the C02 tank just stay connected to the keg?
@RecipeswithBen
@RecipeswithBen 6 месяцев назад
Yes it can, if you dont have space in a fridge you can always detach it when not using and reattach when serving.

This method is SIGNIFICANTLY better in terms of carbonation. Also this method retains the carbonation inside in turn being more efficient with your co2

I have been using this method ever since I got a keg and 100% agree with you.

@@RecipeswithBen Yeah I've been using a Soda stream for roughly a month now and I've already refilled the tanks twice. Judging from my recent research this method is far cheaper and more versatile meaning you can even flavor the water to your choosing. As I'm adding the necessary equipment in my cart (on Amazon) to have a similar set up like yours, I have a quick question, does the gas line always need to be connected for the water to flow or will the carbonation within the keg be enough for the tap faucet?
@RecipeswithBen
@RecipeswithBen 11 месяцев назад
@@Dabby724 If the keg is carbonated to around 30 PSI for sparkling water then it should flow out once you open the tap but having it connected to the tank will help it stay at a constant PSI. I typically leave it detached in my fridge, pull it out when I want a drink and attach the CO2 when serving, also if you are looking for a way to carbonate bottles kegland offer a simple screw cap that can pressurize any plastic bottle and I have a whole video detailing it on my channel if you are interested.

Try cooling the water first

That is what I do as CO2 better dissolves in cold liquid.

Oh you could just buy a soda stream.

This method uses a soda keg and then force carbonates the water from a large refillable tank. A soda stream only fills bottles and uses cartridges to pressurize that are pretty much single use and are expensive. The other advantage is that the keg can stay in the fridge and stay cold and the pressure can be adjusted at anytime. Lastly, I also use this keg for kegging homebrewed beer but it could be used for cold brew coffee with a nitrogen tank.

Plus you can increase the carbonation to your liking no? Also carbonation repels Aleins!! 👽👽☠️🤢🤮💀💀💀💪🏻💪🏻
