I bought a 3/4" hole punch from a craft store. I sit and watch TV and squeeze that punch knocking out cards from cereal boxes and just about any cardboard I have. Great video. Thanks for posting.
I use a 20 gauge brass, minus the plastic, with 4 slots filed in the exterior wall. Then slightly bend the 4 sections inward for clearance. I used 1/4-20 bolt, nut, lock washer hider. Chuck it in my drill press and away I go! Cheap. Effective etc. I couldn’t find my hole saw bit to copy his, but mine works ok too
Good job Buck. I did this too, but then I found a even better cutter. I use the metal cap on a shotgun shell. Make yourself a sizer at 3/4 inch and size down the shell cap. Heat the metal cap with a torch and pull off the plastic hull. Then use a machine screw and lock nut through the middle so you can put it into your drill press. Thin metal on the shell cap cuts real easy and never goes dull.
Remember, a 3/4” hole saw creates an outside dimension of 3/4”. For the inside dimension to be 3/4”, a larger size saw would be needed, UNLESS the inside edge is ground away.
I watched several videos tonight and was about to spend $40 on punches and supplies. I come across your video and WOW. I have old hole saws I can use. Thank you so much for your video.
I use a 3/4" hole punch from Michaels for black powder shells, but this is genius! I was wondering about other materials for wads and spacers, and this sounds like the ticket.
Great video sir. Thanks for sharing. I also liked the flip top vitamin bottle as a jar to keep them in. I use a couple of vitamins that have those lids and never thought about what to do with them.
See the older generation's use. Common sense and ingenuity. The result is good quality and a good feeling, unlike the newbies with good feelings/emotions and crappy results.
I found a hole 🕳 punch block at harbor freight. It punches from 1/4 inch to 3/4 inch. The 3/4 works great in 12 gauge. Not as fast but in a few minutes I can have a lot of 3/4 overshot cards. And this punch set will punch metal as well for other projects. I use about any cardboard box I find.
I made the same but I cut a slot in the side ,when the wad reaches the slot it is thrown out, so make a shield round the pillar drill.22mm cutter for 12g
You can go to Michael's and get a 3/4" hole punch and use any card you can get your hands on, including your unwanted Xmas cards, cereal boxes, your ex-wife's photos! If you want to go REALLY cheaper than that, use sheep's wool or cotton balls and seal with melted candle wax.
