Just for info, a cp soap batter cannot really sustain much more than 7% fragrance oil anyway otherwise it will split or ooze out while saponifying. As a general rule it's best to limit the load to 6% for that very reason. And for the same reasons that's why m&p is limited to 3% fragrance load even if the ifra percentages may state higher the batters can't hold more. Lovely soap Ellen!! Happy Independence Day! Canada Day for us is tomorrow! 🎉 🇨🇦
Ellen, I love all your videos but I have to say my favorites are the 4th of July soaps you do. YOU ARE A GREAT AMERICAN! Blessings to you and your family.
Yeah, I got the Sunflower oil/Olive oil blend from Sam's. It's cheaper than Olive on its own. I'm just watching out for DOS! I haven't seen any yet, though! 😊 Cool soap again, Ellen! Happy 4th! 🎆🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🎆
Great layers, I did the same as you for a rainbow soap and it took 3 hrs because I used a slow moving fragrance, never again. I have replaced olive oil with a mixture of 20 % Sunflower and 18% Rice bran keeping a eye on the Linoleic and Linolenic numbers by making sure the combined total stayed under 14
Really beautiful soap Ellen! I just had my nails done last week as a mother-daughter day with my middle child. I’ve been struggling to adjust since my new nails reach everything before the rest of my hand. 😄
Beautifully done, Ms. Ellen. That blue is EVERYTHING. I wonder what it would look like with trial by fire red? Either way it’s beautifully done and thank you again for sharing your gift with us. ❤❤
Ellen, I just wanted to say, Thank-you! You have inspired me to find joy in a hobby and I’m so grateful for all of your time and efforts you put into these videos. You are truly a mentor, so, again, thank-you.
Hi Ellen, I wonder if you could help me out here lol, I'm trying to figure out how much sugar scrub to make, I have the Stevenson bath butter and I want to make 12 8 ounce jars of sugar scrub, how much bath butter do I measure out?
Wow, so pretty, red, white and blue, I have to make a batch now lol! So, when you divided the lye up, did you take the full liquid amount and divide it by six?
@@EllenRuthSoap do you have any recommendations for substitution of the palm oil with another oil. I really don't know what else I can use. Thank you for responding though
@margaretburrus5421 there is no one to one substitution for palm oil is what she's saying. It adds to the lather and hardness of the bar like coconut oil and not much really replaces that. Babassu oil would be the closest or you can add tallow or lard. You can add extra coconut oil but that is more drying. Most palm free recipes add extra butters because you need the hardness. Regardless you still need to try different recipes through a soap calculator to see what works.
