I can't imagine how hard it must have been without a welder. They needed to make thousands and thousands of these. Being a smith back then must have been so hard :D
@lancelothiphop5470
@lancelothiphop5470 7 лет назад
Listeroman especially since the helmets had to be resistant to swords, spears, clubs, and other stuff. any smith living back then must have been a very well respected person
@Gelathius

They were very very important people!
@nothingbutart7473
@nothingbutart7473 5 лет назад
Listeroman I don’t think they made separate pieces and put them together back then. I think it was just one piece of metal then they would shape them plus there were probably hundreds of Smith’s because it was a class you would be put in to by the king. It isn’t like now where you choose what you want to do.
@CavemanCulinary
@CavemanCulinary 5 лет назад
Pens Fan this seems to be true when you look at artifacts of real helmets. They were always one piece of steel shaped around the head with cut outs only in the eye and nose to mouth area. It’s too bad they didn’t have the ability to weld though as this movie version is seriously bad ass.

And i still don´t get it... Does the brass come from the brush?
@robizolli8998
@robizolli8998 5 лет назад
@@klausbrinck2137 yes the heat of the metal,it 'melts' down the brass which is laying all around the surface of the heated metal...
@asjenmensink2740
@asjenmensink2740 4 года назад
@@klausbrinck2137 the layer of brass only needs to be a few hundred micrometer thick to block the color of the metal underneath. I found the same when I experimented with chemically copper plating steel or aluminium ( with a saturated solution of copper (II) sulfate)

Ok this has got to be the most chaotic neutral diy channel ive ever seen on youtube. First of all, guy's intro is only seven seconds, no promo, no like and subscribe etc just hi lets make this thing. Then at 1:38 he welds without even wearing gloves? are you telling me you put on your stormtrooper helmet but did not think about protecting your hands the first time around? And then he just loses half of his tutorial but decides to post it anyways. Lol i love this dude
