Lumintop vs. Lumintop, the budget battle of 2 great little EDC lights Check out this video to learn how to setup the EDC05 different levels, it's very similar to the Utorch UT01 • Video
The side illumination is a gamechanger in that it adds a significant level of utility. I like that you gave us some perspective regarding lumin level from an earlier design. More is not necessarily better and light quality can make a big difference. I remember Maglites being a big step forward, now they seem dim and inefficient.
Ya, it was a pretty ugly tint. My understanding is that we see brightness the same we we hear volume, logarithmically. Also, the lens, refector, de-doming, battery (how many amps it can provide) and centering can also make a difference. I get trapped by chasing Lumens myself, and I’m always disapointed if the UI sucks
Hello Shortcut Reviews! How did you remove the battery? Do you have a video for that? Also does magnet affect NiMH and alkaline battery inside the EDC05?
Batteries are fine with magnets. The silver disk at the tail of the light had a slot, use a coin to turn it, that is how to take out the battery on one, the other is a simple turn cap.
I have the e05c, not the edc05c... didn't know there was two different models. The e05c can use 14500 and AA Also has a little bit more lumens and throw. I like the tailcap on the edc05c though compared to the e05c
