I really like the information of it. I have a question though. Excuse my ignorance, how much electricity is going through the solution? Is it some amount that you’d need to worry about shocking yourself during the process?
I loved the higher information load. One note though, don’t ask your dude to explain something, let him get halfway through a sentence, then jump in and interrupt him to finish his thought. I love your vids and have watched for years, but damn. Manners man.
Y’all need to stop cyber bullying the blue shirt guy, so what if he has speech impairment or whatever wrong with him. He seemed very intelligent in his works and know what he is doing. Great jobs guys on making that ring.
Just got married a few weeks ago and my wife got me the carbon fiber ring! I’m absolutely loving it! I have never made a ring myself but I sure do love watching how they are made! Keep it up!
+1 for friction fit w/o adhesive! Hope you work that in to more of your designs using cooling/heating expansion of metals! Much more reliable than adhesive
Looks totally awesome! I was wondering if the finishes were reversed, would it look just as cool; the blue on the outside, and the carbon fiber on the inside?
What is the polish you are using for the carbon? What do look for on your site? You are making me into a ring junkie. Keep the videos coming, it is not like working with you in person but supper good clear instructions
Patrick, I have the obsidian timascus ring as my wedding g right. Had it for 2 years plus not and it has definitely dulled in color and taken on some nicks. I would love to see a video on how you would upkeep your rings from customers with years on them. What are tips and tricks to taking care of the many metals, woods, resins, ext. That you offer! Lifetime customer FYI I literally recommend your rings to everyone I ever talk to about rings 😊
The Carbon Fibre is a 3k 200g/m sq 2x2 twill weave, gives great drapability and multi-directional strength as well as great cosmetic appearance, for a one directional strength the warp (X-axis) is regular 3k and the weft (Y-Axis) is much less...
I was going to say maybe that's his personality, but then I noticed him doing the "I just remembered where I am" look that you make when you're high haha
I love your videos! I have started making Caron rings as a hobby. I have a question about the speed of the lathe. What revolutions do you use to machine the carbon? I also have a small lathe like the one in the video. But when I machine my carbon, it splinters quickly. I am looking forward to an answer. Many greetings from Germany. Carmen
I totally love the ringmaking video's and love the physical ring myself. Ordered 2 more... only unfortunetely is that from order to delivery normally takes around 6 weeks and heard that it would takes some more weeks.. (currently 8 weeks, will be for my GF to give as engagement ring). Which is anoyying. Even though they have a lot of promotions an Costs are not extreme high, most Likely due to the high amount of promotions, the production couldnt keep up... But yeh, im still happy with my ring! And anoyying to wait that long for rings ordered, and waiting for 3 months to get it delivered (currently)
Now you just need to clear coat the titanium so that that the anodizing layer doesn't wear off from daily wear. Having made an anodized Titanium Damascus ring, I can tell you from experience that the anodizing layer will wear away and become dull and lifeless after only a couple weeks. Putting a Jewellery Grade protective clear coat on will help to mitigate this problem.
What about a ring with Moissanite? As I understand it, it's cheaper and sparkles even more than diamonds, albeit a little bit less durable. I think that could be a very beautiful looking ring depending what other materials are used with it.
I would love to see you redo this project but replace the carbon fibre with wood. Not that this is bad though, I love it and the idea behind this ring. idk I just think the wood would be great too
