Make your own fly fishing sink tips by welding strong loops at the ends using a heat gun. Rio or Airflo tips are made the same way as in the video. Save dollars and have them better made than from the factory. Price is about 10 dollars a T-tip. Skagit tips are used to make your fly sink to deeper waters and the T-number tells you how many grains per feet the tip weighs. At the end of your T-tip you connect your nylon leader to you fly. At the beginning of your T-tip you have your Skagit line, which may be a Rio Skagit Max or a Airflo Compact F.I.S.T. Small note, the Airflo material softens at about 30-40 degrees lower in temperature, and melts together more abruptly so you may expose the cord inside the polyurethane if you are not careful.
