What an awesome tournament. You did so well and the design of the bot is impeccable, so much better than I expected from an arm bot, wow. Those side shields also gave so much more stability, you could see that when you got side hit, always landing on the wheels, so cool.
Intense battles and incredible engineering on display! It's fascinating to see the aftermath and hear the breakdown of the damage. Kudos to all the participants for their dedication and skill. Can't wait for the next tournament
Your bot is very similar to one I want to build. Is there a way you can send me your schematics so I can start there? It wont be a sawblade, but a drill blade, but I like the way yours drives, and I especially like the forks and style. (Mine was going to be a stingray, not a shark)
I think lowering the fork angle on the helper bot would help it pry under more. Being only a pound just lacks so much impulse compared 3lb, hard to force its way under.
The minibot for Monkfish maybe the most impressive of all of them, project lift off's is very good too. Both very low angled wedges/forks scraping the ground. @@Julipapa
Sound for the Patient 0 fight is out of sync. Mako is a really great design-- when I first saw it, I thought the fins were a brilliant idea, but I was unsure if they'd work-- definitely do. My only "feeling" was that I wish there were more power in both the arm and the saw. Are they on a separate battery? I was also thinking a titanium disk with a grommet for the inside of the saw motor well-- I'd think it would stop heat transfer pretty well and protect the TPU. Then some system of heat dispersal for that motor-- perhaps a copper sheath for that motor with a large finned flange that spins right next to the saw (obviously much smaller)-- it's already spinning, why not get rid of some heat? My total thought on the both when I saw it in action was "Wow. This.. but more!" Great job.
Oh dang. I didn't realize the sound was out of sync. My bad. Right now everything is running off the same battery, but I hope to at least increase the capacity, if not the voltage for next go around. I've definitely got some ideas for heat dispersal and increased strength coming up! Stay tuned!
@@Fatbloooood It's n 3S battery with 550mah of capacity. Which is not great, but everything is very compact inside, so it will be tough to increase that.
Honestly did extremely well up until voxel, very well done. And even then against voxel in the second half you got control of the fight until it kinda died.
Thanks! I really appreciate that. I was experiencing a weird battery problem against Voxel that I still haven't quite been able to diagnose Even before the robot died I couldn't really get power to the saw and the arm at the same time
