@@nathannorthrenia8810 Battle for Azeroth was 5 years ago, you know. I do agree that was a good moment, but when you need to go back half a decade just to find something as good then that's a genuine problem.

@@nathannorthrenia8810 Now that Tyrande and Malfurion is retiring, maybe Shandris will marry Jarod and break the hegemony of the Sisterhood and the Cenarion Circle on kaldorei society?? :)
I feel like this is the first wow cinematic that actually shows a kiss. Any sort of gesture of affection seen before was usually just a hug or something.
I was also surprised lol not the biggest fan of these 2 couple, even still make joke of the "Tyraaaaaaaaandeee I need you" from Legion xD but they still a nice couple and its good to see this scene :D
@@MrGiselbart really ? xD but pretty sure Malf would still say that too eitherway, I mean if it was too out of character for him, it wouldn't work as a way to mislead Tyrande after all xD
I can’t believe how emotional I was watching this video. It was like reading the last page of a long book I’ve been reading for 22 years. Since WC3, I’ve always admired Malfurion and Tyrande’s love for each other. There have been so many highs and lows in their stories, but they stayed true to each other. Thank you Warcraft team for such a beautiful ending to this story!
See, this is some weird thing they came up with for... I think Cataclysm, though? Prior to that Shandris was not their daughter. She was Tyrande's right-hand woman and lieutenant. The whole "she's like a daughter to her" thing's never really sat right with me. Also Night Elves are millenia old, do they really have traditional parent/child relationships? That doesn't even really make sense.
@@Aldrius Tyrande adopted Shandris circa 10000 years before Cataclysm. If you want real world timelines instead, The War of the Ancients Trilogy came out 5-6 before Cataclysm.
When Tyrande turned and began running towards him, panting and jumped in his arms with a kiss, I swear I felt my eyes getting watery and had the biggest smile on my face. Also Shandris was so adorable looking at them together and the way the embraced eachother like a true family. This is such a beautifully done cinematic.
@@MoXfy_Milling i believe you re right -- she s had moment with tyrande in the books yet never truly that in depth with that big of an emotional display
Kind of a shame that his idea, even from legion, about fighting for the world as it is now that the Long Vigil is over, has constantly been ignored so the devs can keep putting him to sleep...
I’m a night elf player l, and I have been for nearly 10 years now. I feel so connected to this game and to the night elves as a whole so I can fully say… I was actually crying at the end of this. I felt overjoyed knowing that the devs remembered Ashenvale, Valsharah, and Hyjal and that they were acknowledging how important they were. I love knowing that one day the night elves will return to Teldrassil, which was my favorite starting zone and area in WoW. But most importantly, seeing Tyrande and Malfurion actually get their happy ending at last after so many years, it felt serene and magical. I hope the two of them get some rest and relaxation during the war within, they deserve it
21 years later after playing WC3, I never expected, nor asked for such a payoff and happy ending that would have me here sobbing as a grown ass adult. Goddammit Bliz, ya did it. You finally gave us the most emotional payoff possible. Never asked for a happy family ending for these three characters, whom I played and interacted with for over 2 decades… but dammit, I’ll take it.
Yeah man so happy let's just all collectively forget the genocide the friendly horde committed, (just like the characters in the game) that led to this moment luh-mao
@@IVPixel I am in the boat that Blizzard's plotlines about forgetting genocide are not sitting well with me, but this moment is genuinely sweet and worth the wait. They didn't forget Malfurion. The night elves finally get something like a happy ending.
Shandris at the end is so adorable. In that moment, she isn't the 10,000 year old leader of the Sentinels. She is that 16 year old happy both her parents are safe and reunited. You can see on her face and hand movement how happy she is but also nervous about interrupting them because she knows how deep their love for each other is. Then she does that gritty little hop into their arms when they welcome her into their embrace.
I think Shandris wasn't that happy in her youth. Her family was killed by the demons during the War of the Ancients. She kinda adopted herself to Tyrande. But they're a happy family for 10.000 years now and it finally shows.
He is the worst maru sue character of all time wow lore stuff he did makes me'dan look like a weakling..... you liking a badly written character doesn't make decent interactions of him good lorewise looking from war1 orcs and humans to this day. Also night elves have suffered least still to this day from mortal races of azeroth if you scale numberwise. they are just hypocrites who sank 80% of original kalimdor (war3 manual) kill more than orcs ever did on dreanor. even if for good good cause they still did it and haven't faced justice from it. Also from listing zin-ahsari and suramar are sacred places for night elf history but tyrande chooses to ignore that she knowninglt threw much older night elves than she to horde because of racism but had no courage to try and fight azshara 1v1 and even if she would have died her death would meang more than aynything she hed done in her life.
@@thehermit8723 well how about malfurion 1v1 archimonde as a apprentice druid and forcing archimonde to retreat or malfurion holding off the entire nightmare and xavius at the same time or malfurion being able hold of a tornado which could have shattered entire darkshore(while azshara alot powerful than malf couldn't keep zin-azhara above Waters) or malfurion being on same level as to Be able to take yseras place in the shadowlands. or tyrande holding of huge army of demons alone who just kept spawning from Well of eternity to give malfurion and illidan Time, tyrande being elunes chosen without any explanation or being in the maw without being captured. While she couldn't even survive. Neither sylvanas or illidan have had that kind of Mary Sue moments. Literally all sylvanas Mary Sue moments can Be explained by jailer empowering and she wasn't given a free Pass either as eternity in the maw is lorewise worse than death. illidan has had no really powerfeatwise Mary Sue moment and chronicles 3(with tbc packing that up) and Even legion shows his methods in tbc were clearly wrong placing illidan morally on same level as legion and sargeras.
Caught me by surprise lol. I walked into this video with no emotion, expecting a cheese-fest and ended up legit crying. It was very sweet and a great homecoming/reunion for the three of them 💜
@@Grimuald Dragonflight was worth it. He didn't sacrifice himself, he took Ysera's place temporarily in the shadowlands in order for Ysera to aid the dragonflights. He was the only one that could do so because Ysera did sacrifice herself for him in Legion.
it's kinda... funny to see Tyranda run like a schoolgirl to her love xD funny in a cute way it's just i can't stop thinking about the fact that they are thousands of years old
This, now this was beautiful. And to welcome Shandris into their arms, too? This is the most healthy family in Warcraft. (Aside from Illidan, I guess.)
malfurion just standing there staring knowing full well hes the star of this videogame. Dude loves Tyrande so much he took four (4) steps to facilitate her marathon to get to him
right, Valeera (blood elf assassin) has unique amazing model while being once again forgotten by the game. But Shandris looks like she's in middle of leveling in Lich King expansion.
Very touching cinematic, albeit without Malfurion talking does make me believe they couldn’t get the voice actor in for a few lines, they did really well with this one. And they managed to get characters to kiss on screen for a change!
He has in-game dialogue with Shandris right after the cutscene, so no it was a design choice not to have him talk which I think is fair enough there wasn't really anything important for him to say there.
@@FlamedramonX Shandris: Father, we have so much to tell you... Malfurion: As I slumbered within Ardenweald, Ysera let me dream through her eyes. I saw the courage you showed defending Amirdrassil. Malfurion: I am so proud of you both. And of all the heroes of Azeroth who joined together for this cause. Tyrande: Though we will never forget the past, it is time to look forward. Shandris: Our people will be pleased to have both of you leading them into that future. Tyrande: No, my beloved daughter. I think we will tarry here in Bel'ameth a while. Tyrande: I believe we have earned some time alone together. Malfurion: That we have, my love. Shandris: But our people need-- Tyrande: They have all they need in you, child. Malfurion: You have grown into a wise leader, Shandris. Within you beats the heart of the kaldorei people. Malfurion: Trust your instincts. And if you have need of us, you know where we will be. Shandris: Thank you. For your faith in me. For... everything. Tyrande: Now come. I want to show you a spot that would be perfect for our home. Malfurion: I do hope there is room for a garden...
Tyrande and Malfurion is my favorite couple in Warcraft without a doubt. They deserve happiness & peace together. After everything (10,000+ years of it) they've endured together, they deserve a happy future.
I think she meant it as more of a living on the island again. Staghelm used the last known vial of waters from the Well of Eternity to grow it, so it probably can not be replaced. Might just start to naturally regrow though like Nordrassil did. But that tree sits over a lake infused by the Well of Eternity water and 3 dragon blessings.
The music, the complete, and utter longing and happiness... this is taken completely out of an epic romance, and I am here for it! Amazing to finally see WoW couples.. be couples! 😍
THEY NAILED THIS ONE! -- Blizz, THIS, this cinematic -- TOP teir. So beautiful, so heartfelt and the family hug, the whole family........(speechlessly perfect)
In Shadow's Rising it's implied the Horde Council pulled most of its people out of Night Elf lands. Only the Cenarion Circle and Earthen Ring members of the horde go their now. They kept Azshara though because its so heavily built up. Ingame stuff is heavily outdated and needs a Cata-style revamp.
I find Tyrande listing off the other Night Elf zones so funny because so many players were bitching that the Night Elves were leaving Kalimdor so they put that in to shut them up lol.
This is one done right. Good job Blizzard. Actually all three this patch look and are great. Maybe there is hope. edit: Shandris is so adorable as well.
So touching. I love the little details here. The disbelief turned to joy on their face to see Furion, Tyrande's subtle little nod when she encourages Shadris to join the hug. Lovely family reunion.
As a NE main, I love this cutscene. But some of the comments below batshaming Malfurion Tyrande etc really don't know the lore behind these characters or just haven't read the books, played WC3 or are just plain dumb. Just let us have this moment!
Hey Blizz... DON'T BURN THIS TREE DOWN PLEASE..THANK YOU!! But in all respect, Night Elven music always gives the emotions away. Happy that Malfurion is back! I'm glad they got this ending.
Tyrande needs to be given a break, at least until Midnight, if she's aiding Lor'themar and the Blood Elves in Quel'Thalas. The girl has been through so much and she deserves her time of respite in Bel'Ameth.
Looks like Teldrassil is going to be a zone with a city again in the future. I have to admit Im surprised. I thought Blizzard was done with that place and that it would just stay as a horrible reminder of BFA.
Really wish the Night Elves weren't done dirty for the past few years (no thanks to certain writers...), but this? I really love this. It's about time we see them done justice and that Malfurion and Tyrande have their happy ending!
It a great reunion but its still stupid that he wasn't in the last patch when other members of the night fea were they real dont know what do with him do they
My heart broke with teldrassil fall , and my heart filled with joy after this , my night elf mage gonno rest now knowing that her people have found peace
I totally don't have a photo album of about 30 selphies my dk took smiling and laughing while "helping" people evacuating Teldrassil. Nope definitely not.
Well i must admit, i got emotinal, im with them since warcraft 3 and this one got me(my fav race is night elf and i play one too). I replayed in my head the scene when Tyrande awakens Malfurion for the first time in war3 , but now even better Shandris is there too. Fun fact is that i too have a 6 years old daughter and i had to shed another tear. Im not a teenager anymore but i grew up with these characters and i love em. Gg on this one Blizz!
That run kiss is a little cliche but done well here. Shandris though steals the scene. In that moment she is the little girl they took in thousands of years ago.
This is more than I imagined, I never thought they would reaffirm their hold on their old territories and their plans to return to Teldrassil and rebuild Darnassus, I’m really glad for all this
Sooo. It seems like Bel'ameth is but a temporary solution, as the end goal is still Teldrassil. At least that's what I have gathered from this Cutscene.
