We should see what the other people think of Sylvanas’s judgement. What Shandris thinks. What Maiev thinks. What Greymane thinks. What Jaina thinks. What Anduin thinks. What Thrall thinks. What Bolvar thinks. What Baine thinks.
@Zucchini Tzatziki Just b/c we pay to play the game doesn't mean we get to dictate how the story goes. What would be the point of witnessing a story created by others then? We could just make up your own story .
So Sylvannas would have to ask Ve'nari for a soul crystal, and enlist in the Arbiter Covenant to take the souls 20 by 20 this is a huge pennance to commit to
Genn after hearing Sylvanas call Tyrande her most fervent adversary: "I meant nothing to her. That cockroach Sylvanas was two-timing me! I spent half my life hating that duplicitous hag, and she didn't even have the decency to truly hate me back."
@@axechop maybe because you using Maiev i think. I like her since in Warcraft 3 but have i have not anymore interest after that except when she fought against Sira and the event when we need to kill a former huntress who become Undead Banshee since her spirit cannot rest (I forgot her name)

Remember when there was that really short quest in Oribos telling us to not trust Ve'nari for some unknown reason? Love how Blizzard writing team forgot about that just like how they forgot about that sword sticking from Silithus.
If you did the rest of the quests, you would know her cartel says you can't trust her cause she organised the killing of the other expedition members once she found a valuable safespot to claim the maw's "treasures" for herself
@@zenza2962 "you can't trust her" She did nothing to us the whole expansion and the expansion is pretty much at it's end, I think it's safe to bet we can trust her. Trash writing. Thank you Steve Danuser.
@@Teemo6544 Alleria only survived that because of Jaina. If Alleria encountered Sylvanas any other time throughout BFA or her empowered version in Shadowlands, Alleria would have been in the maw.
I actually don't hate it. So she is basically exiled to the maw, to look for souls that she falsely condemned to be there and send them to the arbiter. At one point I really thought they would make her the forsaken leader again.
And she wont be leaving. Some Souls are gone and can never be recovered so its a rhetorical punishment you toil forever trying to mend what you broke that can never be mended.
@@chromeshellking pretty sure she comes back, would not be to supriced if she discovers something realy bad in the maw and come back to warn everyone else, probably not in next expansion, but at one point it will happen.
@@glarcier4398 could be a lot of things, heck maby the Jailer we killed aint the real one, we do not know what monsters there is in the Maw and from where they has come there, could be a lot of things there, rember that the jailer did warn us about someting far worse comming, I am not saying this is from the maw, but it could be connected somehow, also where is Nathanos.
Nah, ingame cutscenes of this quality are far better than pre rendered cutscenes. More immersive while playing plus no obvious photoshop effects. Hope to see more of these and fewer pre renders. But i can understand that people who dont actually play the game might prefer pre renders, less of a diffrence in a youtube video.
Tryande: "Did you save every soul you sent there?" Sylvanas: "I saved only the ones that did not fade into oblivion like Arthas." "I also found Nathanos." Tyrande: "How many was that." Sylvanas: "I lost count." How many did Sylvanas save from fading into oblivion? 10,000 out of 1,000,000,000. Tyrande looks at her owl, the owl remains silent.
Don't worry, the loathsome dunguser will make sure she manage to save at least trillions of souls and befriend Tyrande's birb to make sure that Tyrande will go soft and buddy-buddy with her.
The Garrosh One was made by a single person tho. Sadly! Would have love to see more of my boy. The Cutscene when we first escaped the Maw with Anduin saving us was pretty good aswell, same goes for the Pelagos/Kleia one but this one tops everything so far! Ready for more!
I love the difference in her sisters looks, Vereesa looks sad and appears to possibly wish a better fate for Sylvanas, while Alleria gives her a look of outright contempt.
"It shall be done", that line gave me shivers. Am not a fan of what has transpired with Sylvanas, and I do like this ending. It is what is best we could've honestly hoped for. But I will always carry in my heart the Sylvanas that wasn't muddied by filthy hands. The one that sought to hunt Arthas and the one that cared for her people. Arthas, Sylvanas and Illidan were the reasons I played WoW, ever since WC3. So hearing that one line gave me chills.
Man, all the crap hands full of crap they kept handing Sylvanas over and over again... Just constantly portraying her as evil for... no real reason, then coming up with fake reasons, and finally just going full ham cartoon villain. Seriously, they keep plodding this MMO along, and eventually they are going to "Elect" Tyrande as a new villain in one of these expansions. After of course they have the Light go full on Crusade/Inquisition against everyone not of the Light or using the Light. Basically they have already kept this MMO going too long, heck the War between the forces of the Horde and the Alliance was originally going to be between Varian and Hellscream. Then they delayed it with other expansions until the two were gone, and then decided to replace the two with Sylvanas and Anduin. With the dialogue and story beats still carrying traces of the previous main actors...
Okay I have to say despite all the faults of Shadowlands storytelling, this is actually extremely well done. This IMO is a fair way to not just redeem Sylvanas, but write her out of the story for awhile. Going down to a horrific place to spend what will probably be a very long time returning souls to the arbiter is fair given the circumstances.
Meh she will be back as soon as the writers want her to be soo, all we know she could be back for 11.0 or so and say "time moves different" but hey at least she is away for a while
I’m sure she can find a way to save a ton of souls fast so they can put her back into the story. She’s a critical character in lore, like without her angsty self around what the fuck do all the other characters do? I guess we have the promise of the void lords turning everyone to the void to give us someone to give a shit about.
For those of you thinking we might see her again, remember that this isnt just Azeroth's souls she has to hunt down and save. The Shadowlands collects souls from the entire universe. Think of how many souls have been spiraling into the abyss during these last two years while we gear up for raids. She's going to be down there for a very long time.
@@athomicritics danuser doesn't want to make the game people will feel is the best, he wants to make his favourite game and do only things that he likes. He simps for Sylvanas, so he does everything in his power to make her powerful, he doesn't like or even hates Arthas? he turns him into 30 anima. To me the worst part is how he's been foreshadowing the return of Arthas, with hints of his return even in chains of domination and strings of destiny. When the end of eternity came, we got cinematics with Arthas, and there was Uther, Jaina, Sylvanas, magic explaining the origin of the Lich King, it was like rolling down the red carpet for the return of the big antihero that we all knew could have been redeemed if he wasn't left alone for Mal'Ganis to play with him. Huge amounts of foreshadowing in Zereth Mortis to the point I was expecting Arthas to be in the sword having learned how to resist domination magic and teaching it to Anduin so he can escape. And what do we get? A poof of smoke without a face or a voice, and the mary satan that is Sylvanas gets a full monologue that is only just danuser speaking to the audience about how we will never ever see arthas again cause there's not even a soul left of him. Meanwhile the master Uther and Arthas' love of his life Jaina don't say a word as the last whisper of him fades into non existence. This is the biggest pile of crap I've ever seen and played. I will probably at some point write an actual fanfic detailing what Shadowlands should have been, in which the Jailer is NOT evil and the titans return, he allies himself with the titans, and succeeds in his plan. Oh and in my fanfic there is an actual plan: they rearrange the cosmos and rewrite the laws of physics, logic and the universe to make it so that if you die for anything other than old age or illness, aka, if you're somehow killed by accident or on purpose, your soul can choose to either wander the world in search of your body and then return to life, or go to some afterlife cause you're sick of your neighbor Jimmy. Also you can visit the afterlives same way you visit other worlds. No more undeath except via major magical proess. Oh and Arthas returns in the form of a tortured soul in the maw which you rescue and he then swears he's not evil anymore, and that his soul was separated from that of Ner'Zhul's, and decides to give penance by telling you all he knows about the maw, and saving the souls that where unjustly put there using what he learned of domination magic in the years being the lich king, instantly sending them back to oribos. or whatever. Oh and also, Sylvanas is a crazy bitch who cannot be trusted and is addicted to betraying people so she also betrays the jailer trying to take his power and gets turned into 1 anima that is expended by the jailer to power a toy in the shape of a fool clapping some cymbals for all of eternity. Real Jailer doesn't f*ck around.
The heck is he even supposed to do other than suffer nigh eternally as well? Watch and fail to report on perceived laziness? Try to peck her into obedience without getting shot for it? Kind of pointless other than as a reminding gesture...
loved it,even tho,as a die-hard fan of Sylvanas,it made me kinda sad,but it's the right punishment, and I wasn't expecting less from Tyrande, who,I'm sure, will never forgive her. And to see Anduin getting sad, almost going to object, and the presence of Alleria and Vereesa, brought me some joy
Alleria is still surely mad at her,and you can see it from her expression, but Vereesa, from what I've read, has always been worried for Sylvanas, and here, she's sad as well
I'm just sad that Alleria have no pity in her eyes. When she returned in Legion, in the bd of the three sisters, I understand she thought her sister is dead, but now ? Now Sylvanas had her entirely soul, so why Alleria is so cruel lmao. It'd beat my heart, I love Syl' so much
They really stepped up the facial expressions and animations for these kinds of cutscenes. Must've been a lot of work (at least compared to what we're used to). I wonder if they can keep it up
You know, Tyrande never said Sylvanas could return after she was finished redeeming souls. She just said to keep searching "until the final soul is free, and you are all that remains."
i fucking love the new course they are taking with in-game cinematics. it looks wonderful. i enjoyed everybit of it. the animations the movements the lipsync. gorgeous.
@@noregrveidr8178 cause its a thing to hate WoW now , people are dick riding asmongold. I actually miss old asmongold, now asmongold thinks his opinion is always right lol slowly diving into that fame mind.
Anduin the only one about to object, because Anduin's the only one(outside of Uther) that understands Sylvanas on all levels now. Nevertheless, this punishment seems to satisfy the majority of everyone that thought Tyrande was just gonna "forgive" her.
@@cameronmcewen9666 Technically it could be. It's literally a sub-realm of the afterlife. When you cross the veil from life to death, time sort of stops. 2 minutes can feel like a lifetime. No telling how much time has canonically passed in Azeroth and such since we've been in the Shadowlands, but its guaranteed to be super different in 10.0
I think this is a fitting conclusion. Eternal ones feel responsible for not noticing what Jailer was up to, Tyrande still can be passionate and level headed despite all the hatred she feels towards Sylvanas, and Ranger-general Sylvanas dedicating herself for the task given to her by simply saying 'it shall be done'. Everyone acted in line with their character. I'm relieved that at least they handled this part pretty well. It was looking to be the most complicated one.
There are two types of people: 1) “I submit to the Judgement of Tyrande Whisperwind.” 2) “I submit to no one. Not you. Not the jailer. And not this coward Thrall. FOR THE HOOOOORDE!”
Yeah 1 was working for the greater good (in her mind). Failed and is willing to pay the price for it. The other is someone who became so full of himself no one could convince him otherwise. Garrosh's ending was funny but i hated that he had become just a cartoonish ego monster by the end.
Okay...that was awesome..legit awesome the cutscene's models and expressions I mean I also really loved Sylvanas as a char prior to bfa (personal preference, just met with her back in warcraft 3 and love the sylvanas of that era that's all) so this ending was kinda sad to a degree, but it was a well earned fate. I am really REALLY glad that they didn't go the Kerrigan path..or for a direct redemption and everyone's forgiven.
Prior to BfA? Like when she also genocided the entirety of Gilneas? Or more like when she turned on her Horde "allies" and killed anyone and everyone indiscrimantely at Angrathar? This b*tch could never have been trusted. I knew it since she killed her horde comrades back in WotLK.
@@diegochatard-caraballo5848 welll Turalion has not claimed the throne, is more or less just in charge until Anduin comes back, but Pelagos literaly took the Arbiter role.
Say whatever you want about SL lore, but this cutscene, from an artistic and animation point of view is amazing, its all rendered with ingame models, thats a 2022 quality animation sequence done with an almost 20 years game engine, thats an amazing feat, cheers to the animation and art department, carrying wow since WOTLK
I stand by everything you said here except for the very last part. The only expansion since WOTLK that I thought was just as good, if not even better was Legion, but yes other than that the art animation team are the ones really carrying the game.
This has nothing to do with how great the game looks. This has everything to do with the corrupted higher ups, this goes beyond the lore, beyond the artistic look. This is dealing with sexual harassment, dudes drinking woman’s breast milk; while not giving these women maternity leave, who by the way are some of the artist for the game. But hey the graphics look great right???
I love how Anduin is about to object but knows that it is not his place to do so... after all, the night elves where the ones suffering the most at Sylvanas hands. Still nice to see it though
Props to the art/animation team for the improvement on the lip sync, body language, facial expressions and cutscenes as a whole. A big improvement from BFA in game cutscenes and the oof Grommash one. +It would be a nice touch if we could go to Maw and find here there around different areas looking for those souls.
Arthas and Sylvanas are probably the #1 and #2 most popular characters in the entire history of the Warcraft Franchise. Blizzard farted one out of existence and stuck the other one in hell to do dailies for eternity. Jesus Christ these "writers".
Honestly. I hope we get to see her there. I wouldn't mind helping the girl out.... No harm in showing compassion towards someone that genuinely wants to redeem themselves in a way such as hers. But yeah, after all that EVERYONE went through cause of her actions.....its rough. I still hold sympathy because she was a victim to Arthas' corruption. They did her dirty, she never was supposed to be someone like this imho. I'm just glad they didn't kill her outright.
I feel like this is a fitting fate for her, surprised that Tyrande didn’t kill her lol. I personally wanted her to go to revendreth but maybe after she saves the souls
Love it, especially the new facial effects. Makes characters far more alive. This is fine for Sylvanas, its fair. Could make for an interesting story in a few or several expansions.
I'm sad to see Sylvannas like this. This was a very good ending to the story they told and I love tragic villains, but that's not what this was. I don't feel like I'm watching a tragic villain get justice, I feel like I just watched Blizzard throw away a character that everyone hates now because the staff went on a 4 year crusade to simplify, undo, and destroy her. This was the ONLY ending they could write. Sylvannas may have been the single largest waste of potential I've seen in my life.
And no, Elune had no part in burning of Teldrassil. She is not a godess who can influance something on this large scale. She works through players and setting things in motion. She can create, and she did create Night Elves, her words: My children just as she created Wildkin who knows how long before Night Elves. But she never interact with Azeroth on such a direct scale. If she could, don't you think she would use her powers in WOTA to stop Legion? All she did there is throw a protective shield around Tyrande which no one and nothing, inclouding Azshara and Lady Vashj could penetrate. She can act through her Avatar Night Warrior, but for that she needs a vessel like Tyrande....
Not going to lie. Sylvanas has always been my favorite lore character and still is. I left WoW years ago, but since they've effectively gotten rid of Sylvanas, I continue to have zero reason to return to it.
I mean, that makes little sense my dude. If you haven't returned the past two expansions where Sylvanas was one of the focal point of the story, nothing they would have done with her would have made you return.
Then you shouldn’t be commenting. You should be getting a job, a family, a life. But because you’re here bitching over the absence of a fictional character, it means you won’t have any of it.
🤮 Please, don't reduce Lady Sylvanas to a simpering love struck fool. That whole romance with Nathanos was gross, Sylvanas never needed any love interest to be interesting or motivated.
@@missskitty90 Nathanos was the best and the most loyal man of Sylvanas and she trusted him 100% like no one, and she doesn't know of his loss 'cuz of the Jailer. Plus Tyrande said Sylvanas must save every souls casted into the Maw because of her, so it's logical saving the souls inculdes Nathanos. And i mever meant to their romance.... the only mentioning it is you.
I love how they just threw Greymane in the background because they didn't want to have to devote time to having characters explain why Sylvanas wasn't killed when they get back to Azeroth.
I'm not gonna say that the trainwreck of an expansion at least landed on its feet with this outcome for Sylvanas, but with how the story unfortunately went, I do like it better than her either outright dying or taking over the Jailer's role or some crap like that. Unknown amount of time finding those she damned to literal Hell to try and send them to where they actually belong? That's honestly not a terrible way to send her out after all the crap we had to put up wit from her, with the potential of bringing her back later. I kinda like it better than Illidan's current position.
i genuinely wonder what Illidan would think of everything that Tyrande has been up to at this point in time. i can just see him sitting back and laughing his ass off. She seems to of forgotten that this hatred and rage is what got Illidan where he is today. Tyrande still has to atone for her sins as well.
Weell, Tyrande has commit/ordered mass genocide before; looong time ago to the highborne… but I suppose her recent "sins“ have been being completely driven and blinded by, arguably justified, rage and resentment, as well as spite and revenge; blinded to the extent that she too has killed and ordered the deaths of innocent people. She doesn‘t practice all that she preaches, and she, too, needs to atone for some things.. though, how Blizz has ruined her character along with so many other favourites of mine always makes me a bit sad.. :/ but I blame it on execs that don‘t play the game and only care about cutting corners for profit and the storytelling in game suffers. Idk.. it‘s a whole mess for Blizz imo 😭
Love how Tyrande still shows her rage but doesn’t let it consume here like she did with the night warrior. She was more collected and picked a fitting punishment for sylvannas that could very well be an eternity for her. Blizzard did a great job with this.
All that's really down there is Magni talking about "mother azeroth" and "azerite" and the only way to make him shut up for 5 minutes is to complete the turtle saving world quest 10 times perfectly.
Sylvanas looks too miserable in this cinematic. I hate it. I hope she had time to talk with Vereesa and Alleria, but looks like she hadn't, 'cause Alleria still is angry on Sylvanas and Vereesa still feels herself guilty for her betrayal
Sylvanas has been ruined these past few years - I am just sad and mad at the witing. Hopefully she can really return some day - the people who have been following Sylvanas are left with absolutely nothing right now - it's all.... somewhat empty and hollow... for nothing.
@@Massa2034 "Tell them that Sylvanas ist out of the picture and World of Warcraft "died" with her." honestly a lot of people already have been upset and unwilling to play these past couple of months - now the favorite character of many has been written poorly and ultimately been benched for a indefinite timespan - the Forsaken are on the verge of getting "leader(s)" they never wanted or can appreciate - at least in the playerbase, Sylvanas achievements are deleted from the Forsaken race page on wow - as to remove her legacy there, she is the sole reason they even had a grasp of freedom btw - the alliance has been dull for a long time, the horde has been robbed a great character in the end of BfA in Sylvanas... i have seriously no incentive to play or be excited about the game. Even tho the Sylvanas haters are a lot mor outspoken and loud/angry all the time, the playerbase who like her is considerably big - so there will be another drop in playernumbers now. Congratz Blizzard - they outdid themselves again.
Gotta hand it to 'em, they handled this well. It's a fair but brutal punishment, a way for her to legitimately atone and undo the damage, and better yet it means we presumably won't have to see her again for YEARS (a godsend to all that are sick of her at this point). Plus the cutscene quality has been upped by a massive degree as per what we expected after the expansion's opening with Anduin's face.
that's it? THAT"S IT!? SIX YEARS WE'VE BEEN WAITING AND THAT'S IT!? One of the most hated mary sues in warcraft history...and we get NO say in her punishment!? It's not even a real punishment! Just a fucking slap on the wrist compared to what she deserves
...k you know what....I don't hate this. This genuinely is the best way to deal with the character in a just way! Damn, I did not expect that, well done!
I'm satisfied with this outcome. I was nervous initially, thinking there's gonna be a "But I respect your genuine remorse, so I shall show mercy" line. But thank god she's out of the story, World of Sylvanascraft can finally sit on the shelf.
Honestly a well done cinematic. Leaks of this from months ago made it seem like no penance was going to occur. I'm glad they didn't just say "oh no it's okay you didn't mean to do those bat shit crazy things, come home and be warchief again"
I'm glad we're being left off on a good note for this expansion, gives me a lot of hope for 10.0 and so on. Sylvanas's redemption was handled really well, I'm really surprised-- and honestly happy. They're not giving her a slap on the wrist, they're actively punishing her in a regard that makes the most sense.
