Ever heard of “Scared Straight”? This is Curtis version of it. Curtis was going to get Malik out anyways, but the boy had to learn one way or another. If the problem is rectified soon, he becomes a big problem in the future.
I thought Curtis was cold pressing charges against Malik as a teen, however, I realized that the choices that he made with stealing his uncle's motorcycle lead to serious consequences and that he almost got himself and Kyle seriously injured or killed, and no matter how much he said sorry, there are times when saying sorry is just not enough and that there are major consequences. All choices and decisions got prices to pay for.
Curtis did the right thing. Anybody that’s mad at Curtis for pressing charges on Malik and Kyle don’t understand discipline. Curtis is a grown man. He’s allowed to buy and ride a motorcycle if he wants. Malik and Kyle had no business stealing it and then crashing it. Kyle was a troubled kid from New York who was a bad influence on Malik who was already acting out, so Curtis decided to teach them both especially Malik a painful lesson when you do screw up and do something wrong. Had it been somebody else’s motorcycle that they stole and crashed, they would had gotten a lot worse. So I applaud Curtis for doing the right thing no matter how hard that was for him to do to to his nephew and his friend.
A lesson learned I understand Ella when she said he should have not bought that motorcycle because they are dangerous but if Curtis having Taught him that lesson he probably would’ve been getting away stealing and lying or murda
I love Curtis and I get what he was trying to do but I’m on Ella side with this one. Insurance rates goes up when you have under age kids in the house just because it’s a possibility that they may borrow the car or worse take it without permission. Curtis had a motorcycle of all things with 2 kids in the house. ( Almost like having a loaded gun) To make matters worse the kids mother at the time is battling drug addiction . Are we forgetting the fact that social services was called on the kids too. All the responsibility to raise them the best way felt on Ella, CJ and Curtis. Curtis should have got rid of that motorcycle from the get go. It’s like when Calvin got chewed out by his father for running in the burning building , putting CJ life in jeopardy. Curtis didn’t tolerate that saying CJ got two kids. What do you got? The responsibility will fall on Curtis and Ella if something happened to CJ. The point is when you are married you don’t make decisions by yourself. Ella wouldn’t allow CJ or Curtis to have a motorcycle just based on the risk. You already a Fire fighter, it’s like playing russian roulette.
You really can't blame Curtis for this. He has the right to spend his money on whatever he pleases. Malik and Kyle are old enough and it should have understood that if it did not belong to you don't touch it.
It’s the principle you can’t steal people stuff if they stole a stranger motorcycle and wrecked it that stranger is justified to press charges kid or not now did he let it go to far yes but the overall lesson was accountability
Last time I checked he worked and paid the bills so there for he has every right to spend his hard working money on what he wants. The boy shouldn’t have stolen, the males in my family are the same way.
I used to think Curtis was mean for this as a kid but now I understand the lesson did he go a little overboard yes it’s the principle if they would’ve stolen a stranger bike the charges would’ve been justified and would’ve had to pay nobody give a dam about your childhood and how old you are everybody got problems
Swear I hate that everyone was mad about Curtis doing but if it was someone random he would have been gone and did them years take advantage that they staying at his house etc their take everything for granted
Curtis had every right he allowed them to stay in his house rent free and eat his food then malik turns around steals his motorcycle and saying sorry aint gonna pay for the repair job
Yes, I think he should be punished not like this this was his first offense as for the other he had a criminal history for people who thought this was ok go back and listen better smh
I dang sure learned my lesson when i was near his age be careful who u hang with cuz u never know what they do and walk away if u know something ain't right.
