This video only makes you cry. Even 35 years ago Malta was so different. Now its just another Concrete Jungle consumed by greed, lack of discipline and no national pride whatsoever. Very Sad.
This is great 👍 Been to Malta over twenty years ago, main island only. Currently have a renewed interest in Malta while reading about Air War over Malta during WWII; hope I can make it one more time😊
Even though I am only 19 years old, and wasn't here to witness Malta before strong urbanization took over this country, this clip still brings a strong sense of nostalgia in me. Prosit hafna.
@@miriamfenech9666 The Labour government in Malta has, and always will, drag the country to instability and violence. Ridiculous baseless comments like yours is accurately reflective of the reason we, as a nation, linger behind other European countries.
Thank you for showing these old images, very interesting and sad how much Malta has changed not all for the better, a lot of the wonderful old character has been spoiled but I suppose that’s progress.
I love this video - and the music is fantastic - my sister bought me an LP in the 70's called Karozzin and one of the songs was called It-Tfajla tar-Rdum - I think - fuq l-irdum ta Wied il-Ghasel fejn ihammar il-paprin..... is this from the same folklore music???? I would love to listen to it with Maltese lyrics. It makes me so proud to be Maltese - and homesick!!!!
It will be much better to combine the same places in the film, it will help to follow the images and recognize them, especially when you were there, because jumping from Gozo to Valletta, to Sliema and so on makes it difficult to follow. .maybe the author will adjust this beautiful historical plot to order? and it would be nice to add all the missing names to the images... Thanks for this work!
Vast changes and alterations have been done in the span of a hundred years and some for the good and yet those that simply wipe out and away every shred of evidence of the past existence of the originality of the place as it was before isn't a nice prospect for generations to follow. One must always bare it in mind that ancient buildings have and play a significant part in the history of the country and that is to remain proof for the generations to follow. But if there is nothing to bare proof of it's existence than it is a piece of the country's history that has been wiped off and no longer exists. A very nice brief archive of olden times recorded on camera and illustration.Well done.
Soon armageddon and we can replace the beuty of the whole EARTH Only JEHOVAH cando that, uikun li tridd int kif fis sema u hekk flart. Vince Gauci Gożo Malta.
I visited Malta and Gozo in 2023 for the first time. This Video shows me, how unique and beautiful these Islands were, many years ago. In present time, its mostly dirty, ugly and overpopulated. Its kind of a shame, what happend to this ancient beauty.
With all due respect there is or was no Kalkara bay in Sliema at 2:42 otherwise it is a fantastic video I appreciate it as I am 75 years old and from Kalkara!!
Hi there, we've been enjoying seeing this old view of Malta, (especially as we film 4k walks and have just filmed Malta too), it's good to see it has faired well and become European capital of culture, thank you for taking the time to add this. Perhaps we could subscribe to each other and share more?
Very interesting how so many places like Sliema would be unrecognizable were it not for the subtitles yet others like the road that leads to Rabat has remained unchanged... except for asphalt that is
Dak il-Conservatorio Vincenzo Bugeja li hu istitut li jinsab fi Triq il-Kbira Santa Venera ftit qabel taqbad ir-Roundabout tal-Fleur De Lys. Nimmaġina dik pittura jew litograph ta' meta infetaħ.
How can I get a copy of this on a CD for my father? He absolutely loves this and always asking me to play it for him. If he had a CD, he can listen to it in his car also.
San Pawl il-baħar fejn is-Sirens fil-fatt jidher il-Forti Wignacourt. Dak il-kampnar naħseb huwa tal-knisja tad-Duluri u xi uħud minn dawk il-vilel kienu għadhom hemm sas-snin tmenin.
@steevief Thanks for your kind words. I just love everything about the Maltese Islands especially foklore and music. I will do more presentations at a later date.
I was born in Malta. For th past 7yrs I hv bn visiting the island every year where most of my ancestors still are. I dream of living there dead or alive one day♥️. Thankyou for this video.
A rich history of culture now cluttered over with monstrosities of tacky hotels and shopping malls. Malta was a beautiful place. Its people are still among the very best in the world. One day, they will drive out the corrupting EU and the Russian mafia.
@stijvijvij Most of my Maltese music library are old foklore music some written by Charles Camilleri. I'm not sure if you can buy these anymore. Maybe try Utunes. Thanks for your message
Much has changed within the span of 200 years and more to come with population expansion and more cars on the roads and more buildings being knocked down and towers replacing them 🇲🇹😔🤷🏻♂️
Din il-muzika tintuza fil-ftuh tal-ghanja tal-Gimgha l-Kbira, "It-Triq tas-Salib" li kienet poplari hafna lejn nofs is-snin 80. Dejjem assumejt li l-muzika originarjament miktuba ghalhekk. Forsi ghandi zball ? F'din l-ghanja jkanta Sammy Bartolo, tinsab fuq you tube ukoll bicciet minnha.
It's so annoying that people think that 200 years ago was just the 1880s and 1890s 200 years would have been 1817 fucking shit😡 simple minded people they never learn unbelievable.
81 Know that once you have rejected the Gospel of your time, it is over for you!!! Your fasts and prayers are abominations! Your zeal, your fruits of Galatians 5:22 are abominations and above all, your Jesus is Satan.
