Not so long ago, we published a video compiling footage from several 2023 dives on Gozo's most famous wreck, the MV Karwela. It's become the most watched video on this channel so far, so it's time to go back and take another look this year.
Here are a few highlights of just one dive for Gozo Technical Diving. Once again, we used rebreathers to give ourselves the maximum amount of time. Dan dived his JJ CCR, while I was on my favourite Kiss Sidewinder.
This allowed us plenty of time to see the propellers, the deepest part of the wreck (featured on a social media reel to accommodate the portrait format), followed by the stairs and the engine room. Karwela's engine room is relatively small, forcing divers to control their buoyancy, trim and positioning throughout, but there is plenty to discover.
Then there is the wooden deck and the view from the bridge. It's such a worthwhile dive.
