It’s clear that he was going through something and his mother quickly on a plane and showed up to give her son some love. Her showing her son love bought tears to my eyes. This is some love here! All mothers are not like this but that’s another story.
Dorothy Crawley West the kids did nothing wrong..and grownups know that amazing talent can come from hard times.. no one should be judging the kids..even if they self-medicate to try and deal with the pain..main thing is keeping boundaries up when another person is out of control..no one needs to live with another difficult adult.. it's a matter of knowing when to say enough is enough..love them but they can't live in my home with me, doing hard drugs and so many awful things that tend to go along with that ..and a movie, preferably authorized, would make for an interesting film project for sure.

The Un Sung featuring the "De Barge" family. What a biography! These people have been to Hell and back. Pray for them!!!
Wayne White yeah i saw that a long time ago and it confirmed all the rumors I'd been hearing a long time ago, about their abuse etc. Sooooo sad, yet inspiring (how they got thru it all). I've always wished the best for that entire family and wishes for their healing♡ I loooove the DeBarges♡

I see where the family gets their talent. After reading comments of here I am saddened to find out about the Debarge kids horrific home life growing up. Hope they are all healing and loving and protecting their own children.
also, this proves that he had the inner strength and peace of mind to produce a positive career despite the abuse and trauma noted within these comments. His mother has to be living with regrets, that is if she's still alive in august 2017; whatever motivated her to come on stage during his show, he was humble and respectful more than enough to let her continue, so for what it's worth, he learned manners and respect.
Lost my momma on 1-10-18 to Pancreatic Cancer and all his songs bring great childhood memories of being with momma. She loved his songs. He still sounds great. With all due respect i just have never understood the comparison to the Jackson family. There were I believe 9 kids and only one (Michael)used drugs... and ultimately died. The other 8 are fit and look younger than their actual years. They continue to tour and do extremely well over seas. Janet of course does well pretty much wherever. Latoya wrote a 2nd book stating Joe never sexually abused them and that she only said it because her abusive husband threatened to have the mob kill her entire family if she didn't. It was Joe and Randy who rescued her from her torture with him. They were not the perfect family but far from what has happened and continues to happen with the Debarge family.
Agreed. Children should NOT be preyed upon and left unprotected! Leaves scars (often) too deep to cope w/ - especially if the children don't get counseling. 💔💔💔

I don't remember a lot of things about Debarge family...but months ago when i found their old and great song Rhythm Of The Night all the great souvenirs emerged again and remembered how great was their music...a music coming from a beautiful melting pot : French, English, Irish, German and African-American...a music coming from heart...that's what we call a universal music that anyone could love...
