I will let Carly know that you missed her. We miss her from being with us on the videos. We videoed this on Friday and she was at school. David and I will go on little adventures on Fridays. But we make sure we don't choose a place that she would really want to go. Food was excellent and the people were so kind too. We love places like this. Looks like you had a lot of meat on your sandwich. David's meal looked very unique. We would love to try this place sometime. When we heard the "Virginia Sweet Heat" part, we had to back that one up and watch it again. That was funny.

We do too. Love laid back places and the picnic tables were nice. Some food trucks don't offer that. David's meal was definitely unique for a bbq place. I think you would enjoy Mama Jean's. Glad you liked the Virginia Sweet Heat part. We didn't name the sauce, just added a couple comments to it. lol Hope y'all both have a fantastic weekend!

What a beautiful place to have an afternoon picnic, liked the idea to order your food and eat on picnic tables. Did not skimp on portions I feel sorry for David, he watched you try your barbecue sandwich and then his noodles wouldn't cooperate. His lips had to be drooling. That Mac n cheese looked awesome, with the price of barbecue today very fair price, Tell Carly the wife and I said hello. Have a wonderful day 🙏

It was such a nice lunch, even with the rain shower. Of course the nice umbrellas kept us dry for the brief period of rain. We like eating outside at places like this. Trust me it didn't take David too long to get to those noodles. lol I thought it was a unique dish for a bbq place. Everything we had was excellent. I'm glad to hear the brisket was good and tender, when it comes to BBQ I'm more keen on the smoked turkey and brisket! Yes David if you come back and do an updated video I'd love to see a review of the brisket sandwich! Does look like a good restaurant and can't go wrong with the portions and the price! Oh we love smoked turkey too! Brisket and ribs are two of David's favorite. He enjoyed the garlic noodles but it was definitely something different for a bbq place. We enjoyed sitting outside too. Very pleasant experience. Appreciate you watching and commenting.

Super review! My kind of place. David did the potato salad have raw onions in it? Best potato salad I have ever had was at Rudy's in Texas. This is a must stop the next time we are in Roanoke. Thanks for taking us along and safe travels.

Down in South Carolina, barbecue is the "Real Vitamin B" and is an essential food group. Too bad they were out of banana pudding. My grandmother would occasionally change-up how she'd fix it. Imagine it with Pepperidge Farm "Chessmen" cookies or Lorna Doone shortbread cookies instead of vanilla wafers. Another good video. God Bless!

Great Video! The food looked delicious! I saw banana pudding on the menu!!! (My fave dessert haha) Someone told me about a bbq spring roll yesterday and now I am on the lookout. Have you guys ever saw this? The roll is filled with bbq & smoked Mac n cheese and sounds yummy! Enjoyed your video, thank you for sharing!

The establishment is really retro and I don’t know how they can manage to make so much food in a small working space. The food really looked delicious and David’s choice was very different. Cindy, you made me belly laugh when you said that David was sweet and hot too! What a surprise… 😂. Carly would not have cared!!! I would completely tip the sauce cup and chug it all down. Cheers! I tend to look the vinegar based so you could have my sweet hot… 😉 Sorry it was drizzling but glad they had umbrella tables. It would be great in they would have an open covered picnic pavilion. The potato salad looked rich and creamy as well as the Mac n cheese. I am surprised that you guys didn’t share banana puddin… I got some catching up to do on watching some videos. I make long conversations with the people I am fond of and consider my friends although never seeing face to face. I think all of you have a terrific life being able to explore, travel and eat from plain, fancy & fine dining. I like dives too! Ahha…. Have you ever gone to Ocean City, Md. for their Spring and Fall Festivals? I really enjoy attending. Erie, Pa. Has some neat places to eat, amusement park, and their famous Smith hotdogs. A trip around the lake is always nice too. We were just there on May 1 and ate Thai food. I also thought about Gettysburg as well. Each place is 3 hours away heading in different directions. We loved going to Mama Jean's BBQ. I think the reason they limit the menu is so they cook bigger portions to supply enough for all the customers. Such nice people there. You like going somewhere that people actually want you there and want you to enjoy your meal. You would have seen some banana pudding but they were out. 😢 Must be good! We have not been to Ocean City for any festivals. I will have to look into it. We went to the Neptune Festival in Virginia Beach last fall and it was really nice. I'm going to look and see what all Lake Erie has in the area. I have never heard of Smith Hotdogs before! We do enjoy getting out and seeing new places and trying different places to eat. I know this might seem like a crazy question, but do you have a Long John Silvers in your area? Lots of them have closed so I was curious. Thanks for your continued support! We appreciate you! As far as the sweet Virginia heat sauce.... In the words of Jerry Reed, "When you're hot, you're hot and when you're not you're not!"

Thanks so much! Glad you came along with us. I don't know why more BBQ places don't offer greens. I've been looking at some BBQ menus because we are going to do some more bbq reviews and have seen it on some but not all. We typically like to do the old school bbq places that have been doing it for years. This place however was really good and they are the real deal too. On Fridays we will do reviews while Carly is at school sometimes because David is off. However Carly only has a few weeks left of school and she will be able to be with us.
