Mamamoo fans say that there aren't any official positions in Mamamoo like main dancer and main vocalist. They say the media/press has designated certain positions to the members based on their opinions. But Mamamoo's company hasn't given any positions like that to the members.

@@pennymikk Most people agree that Wheein is the best dancer, including professional dancers, so I am sure that this is true. I was sharing what I've seen a lot of Mamamoo fans say which is that there are no official positions.

I don't really think Moonbyul's stiffness has anything do with her feeling uncomfortable with sexy choreographies. To me it's actually her inability rather than choice. Even while doing hip hop choreographies she is stiff. I think the main problem is Moonbyul's lack of fluidity in her moves.

@@Aditi-xl8gr I very much agree. There are hip-hop/urban moves in HIP and even Dingga's choreo that she really under dances. She might have the basics down but she doesn't execute it properly, it's almost like she's just gesturing rather than using her arms and legs fully to dance. She sticks out in 1M dance practice videos and not in a good way.

@@Aditi-xl8gr I agree. I was really unhappy when I saw her performance in AYA (or AYAs: the official MV and other recordings) is... lazy, slightly not accurate and generally very weak. I love Moonbyul very much but I don't think dancing is her thing. I would actually put her in the 4th place.

I think it’s mostly her choice. If you looked in some music videos of mamamoo and dance practice of project girl group ‘girl next door’, Moonbyul’s actually dancing more feminine before than now. Anyway, please support our girls. Stream Aya and Dingga 💛

@@booknerdjebbi5037 i'm not 100% sure but to me I think she is a soprano who just uses her lower range more and has a huskier vocal color! i think if you compare her to moonbyul, moonbyul's voice is a lot more, i guess, diaphragmatically centered, as in i think it's really coming from a lower place, while the other members, including hwasa, are more chest/head based naturally. hwasa's voice has like a higher center than byul's??? it's hard for me to explain, but i feel like she's just a soprano with a naturally huskier timbre, i think as for like, her vocal style/role, she is considered a "mid-range belter". there's also a more technical way to measure this, based on actual notes and stuff, but i'm too lazy for that so i'm doing it based on reference of other sopranos that come to mind!! a way to, i guess, distinguish hwasa's lowness from moonbyul's lowness is the fact that hwasa is very much singing low stylistically, and she's often singing a little lower than her comfortable range, while moonbyul is just naturally low without trying, it's her comfortable range. for example, wendy of red velvet is a soprano, but due to her massive range, she can sing quite low and quite high if she wants to. even so, it's not a measure of her actual vocal type, as she is still ultimately most comfortable and consistent when singing in a more moderate soprano range. i also think it helps if you consider other lower-voiced performers like mingi of ateez and dami of dreamcatcher, who, despite having slightly lower voices, are doing a lot of work to achieve the level of lowness they produce. if they didn't make that effort, their voices would probably sit in higher range. i think hwasa is similar, her voice isn't as naturally inclined to sing super low, but she chooses to focus her energy on milking her vocal color through her lower chestier range, versus exploring her mix or head voice much. when you consider moonbyul, she is just singing low without making much effort, she doesn't need to work hard to sing low like those other individuals. or, if you compare jungkook to v of bts, jungkook could probably sing as low as v, but not comfortably, and v could sing as high as jungkook (honestly he does a lot and it makes me mad for i wish he'd explore his baritone range more :(), but also not comfortably. so, it's very much about comfort zone and natural inclination, and while i think hwasa has trained herself to feel comfortable in that range, it isn't necessarily what she initially felt comfortable in. also, hwasa has a lower talking voice, which i think could be misleading, but the way you talk versus the way you sing are two very separate things side note: also, it's possible moonbyul isn't a contralto, as people think she could be an underdeveloped mezzo or dramatic mezzo, but i still think she's in a relatively lower range than the others and is definitely not a pure soprano! it's also just difficult because sopranos can have a very broad variety of vocal types, so it is hard to distinguish them all, as there can be sopranos with overtly high voices, ones with moderate-seeming voices, and even ones with huskier voices like hwasa's! thank you for asking this question! i can't guarantee everything i said was 100% correct, but hopefully it gave some insight into hwasa's voice!! sorry if i got side-tracked a few times in my writing!!

@@pennymikk she is not considered top 5 nor top 10 which is so heart breaking. She is really a slept on talent. And the fact that most people see her as lead dancer and not main. People made byul the main dancer. Only us moos know wheenin as a main dancer.

wheein isn’t as popular as the others only among intl fans that are casual mmm listeners i guess but she’s also the only member that hasn’t been able to fully showcase her abilities in a solo work. this is coming from an extremely biased wheein stan :) hoping for the best for her solo i really hope people will get to see what she’s made up of.

@@wheeiniei idk about that, i feel like she already shown enough ability as a singer with her solo, im not wheein bias but i love her solo the most out of all the member.. And lets just agree to disagree about int casual fans, i feel like all 4 of them has the same level of fame internationally.. On the bright side she for sure has the least haters lol With the amount of hates mmm get, i've never seen her getting bashed by int non mmm fans at all

@@griphy7187 mamamoo’s fame almost doubled over since hip, but since then wheein has been keeping to her self and resting, she dropped a few dance vids and covers sure but her artistic side isn’t out there yet.

@@culturedswine4003 they are. But the kpop dance standard is very high and there are a lot of dance-centered groups. MMM can keep up as their dances are good enough. But surely their vocals are better and maybe be better than lot other grps too

@@culturedswine4003 yes they have a good technique in dancing but maybe not for their synchronization.. because their synchronization are not that good and maybe that's the reason mamamoo are not being recognise as a dance group...

@@lassyyaa mmm actually are better at dance than a lot of groups. Unlike many other groups (dance groups included) their weakest dancer is actually pretty decent. If they challenged themselves with more difficult choreos (like hip) then I promise you would see that they're dancing is actually above the standard

She isn't promoted as much as the other members. And the company's favouritism towards hwasa has really been showing recently. She deserves all that attention, but it would be nice if all the other members received the same amount. All wheein really does outside of the group are covers and osts and the osts arent really promoted. She has such a fun personality and so much talent but he company does nothing to show it to the public

Rbw company sucks at promoting them. All the show that has hwasa guests on it, is better at promoting hwasa. don’t say that the company’s favorite is hwasa, she has her own way at promoting herself by guesting on other shows. Wheein is the one who is deciding what she’ll gonna do .. some moomoos are just hyping wheein when they can’t feel her presence, but everytime wheein drops a music they don’t stream... and among all the mamamoo members, she is the 2nd one who has the highest gaon points. And everytime hwasa is guesting on other shows, she always mentioned wheein everytime she gets a chance (i live alone, hangout with yoo, hidden singer etc.)

@@pennymikk i think the problem was cause moonbyul isn’t that good with t00 feminine concepts. That’s why she seems kinda stiff in gogobebe but if you compare to their more powerful songs she’s much better

I don't think Wheein is the least popular in the fandom . But for non fans and general public , she definitely is the least known along with Moonbyul , Maybe because Wheein is introverted & doesn't really appers in variety shows / Music show promotion etc.

She doesn’t have a bold character or brand like the other girls. Most long time moo moos recognize wheein as best but new fans are more attracted by hwasa’s sexiness and boldness and uniqueness, solars femininity and sexy and cuteness, or Moonbyul’s rapping and more manly charms that is so different than the typical girl crush. They’re each very unique and different from girl groups. But wheein on stage is just... pretty. Amazing at singing and amazing at dancing if you choose to look at her. But at first glance she doesn’t have a personality that ppl can latch onto. She shines more off stage personality wise.

@@jpachu16 I agree. It wasnt until I watched some of mamamoo's videos when they weren't performing that I really saw wheein and she became my bias. I would go as far as saying she shines the brightest out of all of them offstage.

I'm actually annoyed with members (by this, I mean, K-pop in general) being labeled as "main" and "lead" this and that. I don't get the need for it, lol.

Im just waiting for her to have a solo similar to baekhyun's candy so that shes able to showcase her voice but also show people that she's an excellent dancer as well
