something a lot of people dont realize is that esna (in ahh oop) was the songwriter/composer for a majority of mamamoo's early jazzy style songs. she had been a singer/songwriter with rbw right up until the stage promotions for ahh oop. after the first show stage, knets started trash talking esna saying how she looked old/ugly and had too many parts in a mamamoo song. rbw, instead of sticking up for their artist and clarifying how it was actually an esna song that basically just featured mamamoo, chose to take her completely out of all upcoming show promotions. they didnt even tell esna, she actually found out when she showed up for a show and her name had not been included next to mamamoo on the room door. this rightfully pissed her off so she immediately released another version of the song called "ahh shit"
The original don’t have moonbyul in it, as this is the ballad song, but for the live, moonbyul rap is in it as they perform it in their concert, the best album have a remix and moonbyul is in it. And by the way, their b side song is a bob and can be title track, that’s how good their production is. ❤
i have watched your mamamoo reactions videos before, and i find them so entertaining so i tend to wait for more of your upcoming reaction videos/deep dive to mamamoo. That is why i immediately clicked at this vid when i saw the thumbnail XD anyway, welcome to the moomoo radish farm!
Congrats for hitting 1K subs! The live version of Sting is taken from a much longer vid called Moosical Concert Preview that was filmed while they were rehearsing for their debut concerts called Moosical in 2016. There are several factors that make it superior to the original recording: the addition of Moonbyul's rap to the concert version, the additional year or more of vocal practice and experience, and that they're performing live with a live band. As you must have noticed by now MMM is better live than on record, even better with a live band, and best of all with an audience of moomoos, who become the collective 5th member with their fanchants and enthusiasm fueling MMM's performances. Imo most of the songs on this album would have been hits in the 70's. Sting and Self-Camera could have been sung by someone like Diana Ross or Dionne Warwick while No No No, Funky Shoes and Ahh Oop! would fit into the Pointer Sisters' discography and any of them could have been done by Aretha. To me Ahh Oop! is totally early 70's funk & soul, tho the "Look but don't touch" line never fails to remind me of a late 70's power pop song by Paul Collins and the Beat with that title. When you get old everything new seems to remind you of something from 40 or 50 years ago. 🙄 The difference in attitude between Gentleman and Ahh Oop! is probably that eSNa wrote the lyrics & music for Ahh Oop! while the lyrics for Gentleman were written by a famous kpop songwriter named Kim Eana. eSNa wrote lyrics and/or music for a bunch of MMM songs in this era including co-writing the music for Piano Man and Gentleman with RBW's co-CEO Kim Dohoon and writing or co-writing a bunch of songs on the Hello album including Hello, Heeheehaheho, Peppermint Chocolate and Don't Be Happy.
@@SylverReacts MMM has a number of b-sides that sound like they could have been done by Aretha 50 years ago. You'll hear another called Angel on MMM's next album Memory. In my dreams they'd do an album of covers as a tribute to some of the great singers who influences them. Aretha's Rock Steady is one of the songs on my wish list.
Congrats for the 1K🤩🤩each Mamamoo album are masterpieces whether it's the maintrack or soundtracks I love all😍😍but when they perform them live it's magnificient my favorite of this album after Umh oh ah yeah is Ah Oop
If you can, you can check out a performance video for "ahh oop!" on your own time, I think their choreo for this song is really nice!! I'm glad to see that you're enjoying your deep dive into Mamamoo so far!! I liked "Ahh oop" lyrics too, it seems to be saying about how guys usually approach a girl like "you're pretty, you're the only one for me" but girls don't want that? So like you said to be more attentive and respect a girl is much more important then just sweet talk
Why Japanese cartoon with the rising sun flag earings during the break... in kpop reaction video... Offensive to Korean or any asian countries with painful history caused by the rising sun👎
Sorry! I just enjoyed the demon slayer show and thought the expression was funny, I didn’t even notice the earrings! I will change it out for something different next time I need a placeholder and do better, thank you for pointing it out.
Imo, I think the attitude of "be a man" about something is less toxic masculinity and just be a man - be the good things that masculine energy has going for it, which is strictly unique to the male biological sex. There's a strength and sexual energy that males have that is attractive to biological females, in any species, that is unique to males, so harness that, use it and be a decent person to go with it. Don't be ashamed to be masculine, just be a good person too. In these days of woke ideology in regards to gender, it's often forgotten that there is a real, raw biological delineation between the sexes that is innately attractive in a primal way, which is separate from the idea of gender norms and stereotypes. Esna's lyrics may have an "old fashioned" tone to them in today's hypersensitive internet culture, but realistically, in the every day world with normal people and not folx, that attraction and attitude exists on a primal, hormonal, real level, which is what she seems to be honing in on.
