Hwasa is the most popular right now in terms of solo career and brand value and overall impact in the public. But in the fandom everyone is more of less equally loved. They all are queens.

Wheein and Hwasa were childhood friends. :) Solar just starred as Mata Hari in an on-stage musical. She posted a behind the scenes video of getting ready for the first live show and Moonbyul showed up as well to cheer her on.

The host, JaeJae, is incredibly eccentric. There may be times where she plays it up a bit for the show, but I think she's just very naturally loud (in a good way) and engaging. She's done tons of interviews with lots of other idols and Korean celebrities, often praised for how much fun she has with her guests and how she makes them feel comfortable. It's a bit jarring to watch her at first, but she has a charm to her that grows on you the more you see her work!

mamamoo are extremely more shy around strangers or new people but with their staff and each other theyre known "beagle idols" cause they're crazy chaotic goofy and so loud lol

Mamamoo are like some kind of "anti idols". Nothing like the usual shy, cute and submissive young girls keeping their image under control and always being serious about themselves and about what they do. Mamamoo are transgressive, mature, free minded, outspoken, use a lot of self derision and humour . On the communication side, Moonbyul who is a skilled and experienced radio host and interviewer is known for being someone who makes ppl around her to easily feel confortable and for being very opened to the other.

We say that in mamamoo we have two pairs of soulmates, hwasa and wheein, solar and moonbyul. But all four love each other. Thanks for the video! ❤️

your right, hwasa and wheein have been best friends since they were in middle school. they’ve even said it themselves that they were together for half of their lives and they rely on each other and are very close. as for who’s more popular, i’d say they all are. in their fandom and them as a group in general, i’d say they have the same amount of popularity because all of them are these talented and amazing queens.

when watching mmtg and other korean youtube shows, they usually have 2 options for english subtitles, named something like "english" and "english-jamake". if you see this, always choose the jamake ones. idk why but they are just much more accurate and easier to understand. my guess is those are the subs made by the actual channels themselves. the non-jamake ones always read as if they've been translated through google translate :/ just a tip!! thanks for reacting to our vocal queens!!!

I'm very impressed with how much you picked up! Especially Wheein and Hwasa's frienship! Also the fact that you couldn't see a clear popularity between the members is very telling, they are all so charming and talented in their own way, that fans have difficulty choosing a bias (a favorite in kpop)! The girls have said that they felt that their fans were in general very fair to them. And in terms of general public, the greatest popularity goes to Hwasa as other comments have already pointed our. Great video!

This was a much more comfortable interview with the girls than the last one you reacted to and it showed. You were able to pick out a lot more details about the girls. JaeJae is actually a really good host, cause she is able to make her guests comfortable and shows real interest and depth of knowledge. Maybe she seems a bit OTT at first, but you get used to it 😄 I agree about Solar's polished nature, but I think Moonbyul is actually the most conservative among the girls. Hwasa is definitely a badass, although she is a very sweet person as well. Her and Wheein have been friends a long time, I was surprised you picked up on that! Regarding their solo careers, I guess Hwasa is the most popular, but I personally can't pick a favourite. Anyway, so glad to see more Mamamoo, Max, thanks for this!

Ahhh you are also mentioning JaeJae, her interviews are truly comforting, she is real fan of many of her interviewees and if not, she really gives the time to study so anyone coming to her show can feel at ease.

Jaejae (the hodt) is AMAZING at making the idols on MMTG comfortable and just letting time have fun. She used to be a producer for the SBS (I think) and is incredibly good at remembering facts about idols.

You guessed it right. Wheein and Hwasa are childhood friends. They're very close to each other and have their own special bound and inside jokes. I like how you described everyone. I would say that too. Solar is an active listener and a charming person in general. Which gives her some type of a spotlight. She steals hearts, she's feminine and has a strong personality. Moonbyul is soooo friendly. She makes friends easily and is a really good host. She's also a good listener and communicator, she makes people feel at ease with her. Wheein, is the tougher one as you guessed it. All of mamamoo members are shy but they're also approachable and friendly. Wheein is the less approachable among all of them. This comes from fans who saw mamamoo. They say that wheein has an intimidating aura. Probably because she's the most shy and awkward around strangers. But she also got that chill rbf vibe. She's a total goof and the clown of the group when she's with close people (ex: the members) but she gets tough while around others. She lets herself laugh and express her thoughts freely, but she is never the type to fake it. You can see when she's uncomfortable or mad at something. I love her! Hwasa is the most popular member. She's got this bad b vibe specially on stage. She's got the most outstanding stage presence. But in reality she's just a shy introverted cutie. She still has the idgf personality which make people fall in love her. She keeps breaking korean standards in her own way. Wheein isn't the most famous member but she is among the fandom the most loved and a typical bias wrecker. All of them are outspoken and not the shy submissive korean girls. Well, while Solar is indeed the leader of Mamamoo, she is not by any means "traditional" haha. All of our girls are crazy lol, but Solar is the craziest one (with Wheein following close behind).

It’s so classic of introverts like Wheein who are super goofy and cute in spaces where they are comfortable come off as “I take no shit” when they are in environments with people they aren’t as comfortable with. The walls go up and the seriousness gets cranked up in those settings and if that’s the only place you ever see them, you respect them but have no idea how insanely loveable they are too.

You picked up on quite with just this interview, and others have mentioned things such as wheein and hwasa's friendship since middle school Solar is the group's leader, so she had to learn both how to take charge and how to let (or sometimes make) the others have their time to shine. All four women are rather independent and proud of this fact, so that hasn't always been easy Also, each member's own family dynamic plays a big role in how they do things, as does the dynamic the four have created among themselves over the years (with solar being eldest, then moonbyul, then wheein and hwasa). For their individual families, solar is the youngest of two siblings (and shares an apt with her sister), moonbyul is the eldest of 3 siblings and hwasa is the youngest of 3 siblings (all three only have sisters). Wheein grew up an only child whose father abandoned them when she was young and got a younger stepbrother when her mother remarried Moonbyul is the most conservative member in some ways (mostly style of dress and overall 'sexiness') but each can be in different scenarios or settings. Hwasa is definitely the most reserved member much of the time

Hwasa has incredible duality: on stage she is a badass but in real life she is really sweet and the one with the most calm vibe of the four. A lot of fans have said that she is actually the most approachable when they talk to her during fansigns. On the other hand, they say Solar and Wheein can feel a bit intimidating at first. On the rest, you pretty much guessed a lot of it right: Solar acts like a leader and knows how to mediate between the host and the group; Wheein doesn't pretend for others and in this case she was more comfortable than usual because she really enjoys JaeJae as an host; Moonbyul is an approachable person that others want to be friends with; Wheein and Hwasa have a very close bond since they have been friends since highschool but so have Moonbyul and Solar because they are close in age and they spend a lot of time together even outside of their professional lives.

I really appreciated you comments here. All of them are good at making space for each other to shine, but I agree Solar is particularly gifted at it. Solar the leader and Moonbyul are several years older than Hwasa and Wheein. Also Hwasa and Wheein are friends since middle school. So they do frequently form 2 pairs that way. Moonbyul is generally the most conservative of them.

They are very chaotic when they are alone with each other and goof around a lot....If you want a good laugh you should definitely check out Why Mamamoo should stop hosting their own radio show....It's so chaotic yet heartwarming at the same time...You will be able to realise that though all four of them are crackheads...but it's actually Solar and Wheein that top the list of biggest crackheads 😂😂

Wheein was criminally underrated for a long time! But now after signing with a new company she gets more attention and appears on more shows.

Wheein is not the most popular lol it's actually Hwasa right now, she's a very busy person & right there at the top right now, working with senior artists & being present in many variety shows, she also had her first solo waterbomb festival recently which was a hot topic too so yeah she's the most popular in terms of work

I think that Mamamoo is different from other K-pop girl groups. As you say “badass.” They do things that sometimes shocks the K-pop world. As an aside, Wheein and V of BTS are friends and Jin and Moonbyul are friends. Also plenty of videos about a possible. relationship between Hwasa and RM (never confirmed!)

I think it's the wrong subtitle. The correct one is English - jamake subs. English - en has a lot of errors.

The subtitles are weird lol I think they're auto generated? next time click english - jamake on the settings for the subtitles, it should give you subtitles that actually make sense and you can get a much better idea of what's going on and being said bc this is kinda... a mess 🤣🤣😭

One thing that might have affected your perception of the video is that you used the less accurate subtitles - the (en - jamake) one is much more accurate to what they're saying. Tho I'm not sure if that's what you paid attention to
