Pleasure to see a person who use a proper hook to hold large bodied Bitis. It could be so harmful for snake ribs that rounded hooks could be banished for snakes with large bodies and important weight. It seems that Danny have a great knowledge about the animals he have.
I think are snakes are way stronger and badass then people think. They can easily go through a handling with rounded hooks for a short period of time and not even be bother about it. My conclusions are based on handling few snakes and I know how strong they are. Even a small snake can be exceptionally strong and they can display that strength whenever they wish to. I could be wrong and In no way am a snake expert (far from it) but am open to correction if am wrong.
@@oldmonk_ Snake have no sternum, than the ribs are completely free and for heavy weighted bodied snakes like these large Bitis and sometimes large crotalus should be always manipulate with large hooks with flat hooks. If you have a bad repartition of the weight you could damage the ribs and worse, the internal organs. Snakes are considerably lesser strong than you think. A bird could kill instantly a snake by a simple blow on his head or his neck. Than it is important to take precautions for an animal what have not evolved to be manipulate. Friendly
Totally nutty. A gaboon viper can flip totally back wards and strike something touching its own back. The strike is blinding fast and explosive. Your playing with fire.
@@rcss212 totally agree with u. Some people are in tune with these animals. Others see it as playing with death. where people like David can remain so calm it’s as if they are just a branch the snake is hanging from. Not everyone should do it. David has the sixth sense for sure. He understands the repercussions of his actions
I'm amazed at how calm and gracefully David handles the gaboon viper. It seems the gaboon viper doesn't even know someone is handling him. I would make a nervous twitch and get bit. That is why David is a Master snake handler. He is truly one with these beautiful animals
You are the most meditative snake handler I've ever watched. So calming to the snake AND the viewer. The comment that any arboreal snake will climb up that hook no problem couldn't be more true.
I've often wondered what it feels like to hold a Gaboon viper. They look really fat and heavy whereas I always imagine a King would feel like pure muscle. I loved how the green mamba calmed down once you'd got a comfortable hold of it's tail and raised it. You're awesome to watch and I love how Dan cares for his animals.
WOW thank you, that is the biggest gaboon I have ever seen and I have seen a few DUDE you are still the snake whisper and thank your friend for letting us visit his collection of beautiful animals ,thanks again and be safe.
I'm new to this channel and David is so gifted, he has a connection I haven't ever seen with snakes. It's mind blowing. I'm really enjoying the past content and hope he keeps posting.
YES a davidsfeed video the animal god answered me I was just searching your channel to see if you came out with new stuff and you just did... this guy has a very impressive collection that small room and with the fastest snakes in the world can be a trap but with experience like David and this guy it’s not an issue .. very cool video I like when David goes on snake room tours!
Not gonna lie, in the beginning of the video, I thought he said "We are still at daddy's house."......I paused the video and was worried I clicked on something I shouldn't have LMAO. Keep the videos coming David. I love them!
That was pretty awesome and nerve-wracking at the same time! LoL. I've heard that the Tai-pans do not ever dry bite. Like one in a thousand maybe. I believe the saying was the snake doesn't start a fight but will finish one. IDK. Kudos David for demonstrating calm in the face of lethality, once again! Please stay safe 🙏 and healthy 🤘🐍 thank you!
I don’t want to sound like one of those oh he has a death wish guys but I probably will. Your knowledge and love for these animals is amazing and I do love your videos and the content you put out but this video is going to be in classrooms as how not to free handle deadly poisonous snakes. I know you love the touch and feel of the snakes but was it really necessary to hold the gaboon with both hands. You looked like you were second guessing your decision when he started turning around. They strike hard and fast and backwards. If he struck at you you would of dropped it and you could of injured the snake or been bit. If you would of hurt my snake I would of been pissed. Mambas are nuts and I presume that was your first time handling one. Your in a 10x10 box with with people around and the guy even has to tell you to leave it lay or it’s gonna climb the hook and tag you. Don’t you think you should of passed on handling being the conditions and your experience with the snake were not ideal. My ass gets puckered watching your videos but today was a hole new level. The wrong person is going to watch this and say if he can do it so can I and the outcome is going to come out horribly wrong. You don’t have to touch and feel every snake every time. Not trying to sound like your father and this is going to sound super corny but I was super disappointed watching this. Id hate to see something bad happen to you.
It can be a lot easier to read a snake if you physically have hands on it. I'd be wary of handling any viper species because as an Aussie I'm only used to handling elapids. And I'm a firm believer in snakes having their own personalities. One can be a wild caught chilled animal while a captive born and raised animal that may be several generations captive bred can be a complete psycho. I also believe that a venomous snake has no more want or desire to bite than any python.
Would love to see you with Dingo another snake venom youtuber. You'd be so calm while dingo is like Steve irwan lol. Would probably see you David smile or laugh a lot with that guy!! This video is wicked and your ability to read new snakes is spot on+
Awesome video David & Rupert! Also David, I love your shirt! A quick RU-vid tip if I may, bring extra shirts with you so it looks like you didn't film multiple videos on the same day! Love the content brother! Be safe!
In love with the vibe of that Gaboon. Great handling. I really appreciate the use of the latin names. Would it be possible to get more close ups of the snakes? I know that they move but it's very possible.
Dan seems like a decent guy. The sharp-nosed viper was, wow. Beautiful colors. The Taipan, Mambas, and other fast-moving snakes do not seem enjoyable to handle at all. Just sweaty hands from from such stressful focus on the animal and reacting to its movements.
Nice to see a Deinagkistrodon in this video. Simply gorgeous snakes. Along with some of the Protobothrops the most Beautiful pitvipers of Southeast Asia in my opinion.
Im curious the permit requirements on that side of the world. Do you apprentice the same or because they're use to venomous species if they just get into it?
I Agree 100 with you. Its crazy how these people think they can read a snake every time 100% accurately. They think these snakes can be tamed. Snakes can not be tamed, they can't be read 100% time. Snakes do not have the brain capacity to feel emotions. They do not like or love a their owners. Snakes can sometimes get use to being handled for very short mount of time. Snakes do not like to be touch they only tolerate it sometimes. Reading these comments there is a lot of idiots that think snakes are like other pets and you can read the snakes. They think this guy knows what he is doing. The guy is a fool and so is those who think he has a special talent of being the snake whisper its Crazy. Everyone that knows about snakes knows this guy is going to get tagged. Its not a matter of IF he gets tagged it WHEN he gets tagged... Some people will do anything to get views on RU-vid. I guess they want desperately to be famous. I bet he will be more famous after he gets bitten. Of course theres a good chance he won't be alive to enjoy the fame. This kind of thing will just end very badly for him and all those that watch his videos thinking they can free hand snakes safely.
Love the vides, I hope that the travel restrictions loosen soon! Would you ever take on the task of catching a Pseudohaje species? Do you have any comments on the genus?
0 attempts to biting, just in a "dont want to be handled" mood. Nothing special when it comes to mambas, they are generally more on the edge than Naja but yeah this was not any type of attack but trying to climb higher which they often do to feel more secure.
Benjamin Esterberg well, after having watched the video again, I have to agree with him about the closed mouth. It does actually look like the mamba was trying to climb. Nonetheless, I would never ever describe that snake as quite calm! 😁
Benjamin Esterberg yeah, I get it, but he’s right. Mambas are notorious for being a handful and the owner of the snake should know what he’s talking about. Having said that, in comparison to other snakes that mamba is definitely not calm.
@@1adamcarosella Well, I didn't think antivenin was available since venomous snake like mambas don't occur in the wild in the N.L and also due to the high price for antivenin.
mah szy I was being sarcastic there is nothing out in Netherlands that is interesting as far as snakes but like David said plan is don’t get tagged beside to be honest he’s one of the best handlers I have seen on video so his experience and knowledge of each animal will help
The keeper brought up how close the eyes are together...maybe it's because that snake is an ambush hunter and doesn't need the ability to judge how far its food is from its face, as it only strikes when the prey animal is practically standing on the snake?
If I have to define it the Gabon’s handling is one of the most elegant and respectful ever see. I hope everybody noticed how calm down was the green mamba after David began to handle it, amazing and beautiful
I used to be super creeped out by snakes, not saying they are my favorite but it’s intriguing to watch you handle. Would you be offended if I said you were a little bit crazy? 😀
